Written Communication – ???? HELP!

    Hi,

I have scheduled the exam in a week (2/13) and I am very insecure about the written communication task. I’m using Becker’s for the review but don’t feel confident about this area.

I read on this forum that the examiners do not focus on the content of the question but mostly on the writing skills. Other doubt is; Do I need to close with a signature the response? How long does the answer must be to ensure a correct response? What “introduction” and “conclusion” can somebody recommend that I can memorize? (any example)

Please, somebody give me some advice or some extra material I can use for this part of the exam.
    I will be eternally grateful.

    Thank you!

You don't need to worry too much about written communication as long as you know the topic (As long as you can describe the topic well, you will be fine. You don't need to know all the details).
This part of exam is graded by software unless you scored 74. No signature needed, but you do need to write 1-2 sentences of opening and closing.

“The purpose of this memo is to explain….”
The sentences do not need to be fancy.

The software will scan through your essay and identified topic-related terms (key words). Here is a trick, if you do know the key words but don't know the logical relation or reasoning between them, you should try to put the key words in a grammatically correct sentence anyway. Don't hesitate to write them down.

    Good luck!

The written communication part is sort of a freebie in comparison to SIMs for other exams. With SIMS and Multiple choice questions, you either get it wrong or right so no points whatsoever if you get it wrong but for written communication as long as you can form a paragraph and not go off topic you'll do fine. I had writers block when I got to the written communication part and couldn't remember much the key words I spent endless hours studying so I end up responding based on what I have learned at work. Someone named Jacob on here gave me a format to use and I think it really helped. I scored “comparable” without using much key words.
