Why doesn't BEC questions have sources?

    I’m using Becker and noticed that the BEC MCQs have no sources attached to each question. I’m only working on my third topic, so I was curious when I will begin seeing questions that have been actually released by the AICPA.

    I tend to place less weight on questions with no sources because I assume Becker creates these, which is why they’re so much more difficult than the more general AICPA questions. Is corporate governance and control environment new material? Or did someone working for Becker get lazy and forget to add the source for each question?

    @BeckerUser,

    Both topics, corporate governance and control environment, are newly added to BEC in 2011. You can review 2011 AICPA Released Questions for BEC, but I wouldn't focus solely on them. Although, AICPA released questions may be representative of the actual exam, they are also generally the questions that AICPA does not intend to use again.

    I found Becker's BEC questions pretty much in line with an actual exam, can't say that they were more difficult than AICPA questions.

    BEC - 10/12/2011 - 78
    AUD - 11/23/2011 - 84
    FAR - 02/22/2012 - 76 (I'll take it!)
    REG - 08/31/2012

    That explains a lot. Thanks!

    But it makes me wonder why they would put those topics at the very front of the book when they don't really know how much of the material will be tested.
