Just wondering and I know it will be different for everyone, but which section did you hate the most and why?

    BEC - PASS
    FAR - PASS
    Audit - PASS
    REG - PASS

@DJN, I liked the econ parts of BEC too. It has been so long since I took Micro and Macro, I'd forgotten about a lot of basic econ topics (supply and demand curves and what affects them). It's interesting.

    B - 81 (8/31/13) first attempt!
    A - 80 (2/3/14) first attempt!
    R - 89 (7/31/13) first attempt!
    F - 86 (7/2/13) first attempt!

Studying for FAR was the worst. On exam day…REG was brutal. So happy I'm done!

    Becker
    AUD: 98 (4/13)
    BEC: 84 (5/13)
    FAR: 91 (7/13)
    REG: 91 (8/13)

AUDIT was my nemesis! FAR I got a hail Mary and passed with a 75% after only three intense weeks of evening studying. BEC I stupidly thought was the ‘easy test', but made it with a 75% on that one as well. REG I thought was the easiest. I was getting 90's in the study materials and felt very confident going into it. Oh the SIMS!!! They were like nothing studied though, and I was glad to see the 78%!

But AUDIT… I have a hate/loath relationship with that beast! 62, 67, 69. Terrible terrible, suck the life out of me terrible. I got myself the NINJA Notes, 10pt combo, listened to Jeff day in, day out, wrote out my one page I was going to brain dump at the terminal when I got there, memorized a basic unqualified report, and after exactly one year… 90%! It was by far the worst because there was no real computations, all theory or auditor's judgement stuff, and they can really trick you with the wording. Also, the trace/vouch when using the words trace in different contexts during actual vouching really threw me. I had a friend finally explain the whole concept starting from the balance sheet, and that finally made it click for me!

I wish our signatures would come back soon…it would give our ranking some much needed background info! 😉

    1. Audit–Too subjective and highly annoying. I'm a tax girl. To me, materiality is a nice way of saying that it's OK for an account balance to be wrong by X amount and still be cool. It's not cool. Get it right. Ugh. I failed audit 3 times before finally killing that POS with a 92. I. Hate. Audit.

    2. FAR–Difficult due to massive quantity of topics but each topic standing alone is manageable…just too many topics to be perfect on for one sitting! I missed closing out my CPA journey this week by receiving a “lovely” 72 on FAR…I'm going to wreck FAR come October!!!

    3. BEC–Every BEC exam is different for every candidate. You just do your best to prep and hope you get a good pull on exam day of topics that suit your strengths. BEC is a random crapshoot. Good luck. I feel beyond relieved to have passed BEC on the first shot.

    4. REG–I work in public accounting and love tax! I do all flavors of returns and I know without questions that the SIMS saved me on exam day. I received a “perfect” score…75! I didn't give BLaw the attention it deserved and it almost cost me a pass. Don't be like me!!! I do sympathize however that if you are unfamiliar with tax, you hate tax, or just plain suck at tax then REG is a nightmare.

    REG: 75 DONE 🙂
    AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂
    BEC: 76 DONE 🙂
    FAR: 72, 74, 79 DONE 🙂

FAR is the demon. In my opinion, no contest.

But BEC… I used this line in another thread. BEC is like training for a heavyweight boxing match only to find yourself being kicked repeatedly in the shins by muy thai midgets. You literally feel like for the past several weeks you studied for a completely different section at some points due to the absurd amount of vague questions, strangely structured questions, and pre-test questions.

BEC isn't necessarily the hardest, but IMO it is definitely the worst.

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

FAR has been the most difficult for me, just because of the amount of material you have to study. It can be daunting to retake this exam if you fail, just because you most likely won't be tested on the same topics again. It's a challenge in terms of breadth to the exam.

BEC was a weird exam… Don't take it lightly, which so many people do. It is a ridiculous exam.
