I recently failed bec with a 72 and want to retake it at the end of November while the info is relatively fresh….i’m using becker but this time i’m going to supplement it with wiley since I heard it was better review material for this par of the exam…anyway, my question is, would you guys take the exam the wednesday before thanksgiving (it would be nice to relax for the thanksgiving weekend) or the monday after (last opening for my prometric center)…I’m going to start studying on the 18th of october (far exam 16th)..I wanted to know for those who have retaken bec and passed, how much did you study the second time around??

4 weeks is probably enough time but you've got to hit it hard. I would hit as many MCQs as possible…if you are at a 72 you have a pretty good understanding of what's going on, so just shore up those weak areas and you'll be good to go.

yea i was thinking the same….what study material did you use and do you have any advice for the writing section (one of my weaker areas on my report)?

I would take it the last day of November. Actually that is exactly what I did with BEC last year. I think 4 weeks is more than enough to study BEC. But it also depends on how understanding your family/friends are. I spent the whole day studying, came over to the family's house and ate dinner, then returned to the books. Rinse lather repeat for the next few days. My family completely understood and made me promise that I would spend the whole day with them the following year. I'm glad I'm finished with the exam, so I dont have to break my promise.

It depends on your studying habits. Do you think you can spend Thanksgiving Day and the day after studying for BEC? If so, I would recommend waiting until the last possible moment, which is the Monday after Thanksgiving (the last slot available @ your prometric center). As for your writing section, I think you should read as many memos as you can to get a general idea of how to format your work. The topics are sometimes crazy, but I think you'll be okay if you do well with the format, grammar, etc. I ran out of time studying for BEC the 3rd time, but if I had to change anything, I definitely would've done more multiple choice questions. Good luck!

I'd take it before Thanksgiving so that I could relax during the holiday. Besides, Thanksgiving puts me in a turkey comatose for at least 3 days.

I'd have to agree with kandisjoy. I always hated when I had a test looming over me during a holiday when I wanted to be relaxing with friends and family.

    AUD - 82 Becker
    BEC - 75 Becker
    REG - 71, 82 Becker
    FAR - 66,61,71,74,70 and #6 80!!!! FINALLY DONE!!! 9/20/12
Yaeger and Yaeger CRAM for the final battle!
