Anyone taken BEC recently? I’m sitting for it this Friday and it covers a lot of unrelated subjects. So, my question is:

Based on your experience, What topics should I spend more time on? Any testing tips would be helpful as well.

    Thanks!

Exam disclosures are strictly forbidden. If a topic in in the CSO, then it is fair game on the exam. The only tip I can give you is to remember to Read the Freaking Question. I write that at the top of my scratch paper every time. BEC is tricky. Good Luck!

Thanks Kricket! It sounds simple, but reading comprehension makes the difference.

Make sure that you practise well, specially on the MCQ as it counts 85. A great point to take into consideration is to review CSO as Kricket mentioned. The more practise and sacrifice for CPA, the more you will get and celebrate later 🙂

    Bes of Luck!

As stated above, BEC is a tricky exam. My recommendation is to truly understand the material…..even if you memorize EVERYsingle formula from your study material (there are alot), if you dont understand how to apply them to the material it will do you no good. Realizing and knowing how to work through problems backwords and apply formula thinking to conceptual questions is huge.

I took BEC recently, and I agree: know as much of it as you can. My advice as far as the formulas go: the day before the exam create a cheat sheet of important formulas, and just re-write them a bit. Then when you sit for the exam take 5 minutes in the beginning to write the formulas on your scrap paper so you have them. I know it's valuable time but it should help throughout the exam.

    A - 10/28/12 - Passed!!!
    B - 11/20/12 - Passed!!!
    F - 11/12/13 - Passed!!!
    R - 02/01/13 - Passed!!!

    Work Experience - Done!
    Ethics Exam - Boom! Done!
