I read some post from people who take the exam this month, and the mayority said is the worst exam. What happens, is the material of study???? I read experience from people who said Becker don’t cover all material required for the exam???

The worst disease in the world is fear, and I am AFRAID of it..80/

@bcjasper09 Yeah, from what I can tell you've grasped the BEC material pretty well (much more than I), so I think you will be fine. I also had an afternoon test 3:30. At the time of scheduling it, I thought it was a good idea, but it was tourture waiting day off! I will stick to no later than 12pm exams lol. Fortunately, prometric called me around 1:45 and said my seat was open I could come in early if I wanted to, so cut about an hour off my waiting time. You could always give them a ring and check if it's possible for you to come in earlier if you are really anxious to take it sooner.

Good luck! I know you will do well.

@bcjasper – I didn't mention in my post that I used Becker material alone as well. I did do some CPA Review for Free MC when I had some down time at work but nothing substantial. I think if you know the Becker material well it is more than enough to get over the 75 hump. I walked into the exam feeling that I knew about 70% of the Becker and got a 75, if you know 90-95% of it then I think you will be fine.

well.. just finished with BEC- take 2…….. I wish i could post that I ROCKED that test but I don't know how I feel at all… I am very disappointed that i don't feel more confident after all the hours of studying and doing so many MCQ's (not that that seemed to help AT ALL)… BUT it is what it is…. the WC are so easy I just wish they were worth 50% of the test- 🙁

question of the day…… if I failed again— do I hang up my hat??? Cause seriously— I don't know what I could have studied or done differently to have passed… and THAT is a big concern…

I definitely wouldn't give up. Even if you don't pass, so long as you get a higher grade than your first score you are making progress. I bombed my first BEC with a 54. Then I buckled down and studied non-stop. I studied the topics that I originally thought I'd never figure out and studied them until I was done being angry and down on myself and my self esteem. I emailed old professors, called CPA's I knew and begged them for help, I posted MCQ's on this thread, etc. During the last 7 days before my test I crammed, night and day, I even dreamed about formulas. Come test day I was 100% confident that I would pass. When I finished the exam, I walked out with a very unsure feeling. Reason being, I didn't take enough practice exams so I didn't budget my time correctly and had to rush through the WC's. If I had just budgeted 5 more minutes, I knew I would've nailed it. However, in my head I knew that I'd either get a 72 or a 76. Unfortunately, I received the latter.

I was supposed to have my exam this Saturday but didn't feel like I hit the books hard enough over the past month so I re-scheduled it for July 1 (the first day of the next window). Between now and then I have a schedule in my Outlook calendar and am sticking to it.

Don't give up. Nothing is worse in life than living with regret. It's only temporary, just think of the Mercedes you will be driving in 5 years, or the college you will be able to pay for your kids so they don't have to accrue the student loans you may have had to accrue. Whatever it takes to motivate you, just keep at it. Rarely anyone completes this on the first go-round. I've met some killer CPA's who have taken these things 5 times. But they know their stuff because of it and all have nice cars, nice houses, and are respected by their colleagues and within their communities.

I'll take this thing 30 times if I have to until I see those three letters at the end of my name.

    and remember…

“Life's battles do not always go to the stronger or faster man. Eventually, the man who wins is the man who believes that he can.”

"I've missed over 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost over 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot, and missed. I've failed, over and over and over again in my life. And that is why, I succeed."

@KatieM- don't give up if you didn't pass! And don't wait to see if you did or not. You need to pick another section so you can start studying for that and move on! Just because you failed one section once or more than once doesn't mean you won't pass! It took me three tries on FAR and two on AUD (my first attempt I only studied for 6 days though so go figure.) But with that being said… just keep on going! And believe me once you pass one of the sections it will help motivate you and give you that extra OOMPH you need… I literally cried when I saw my passing FAR score! And getting a 93 on AUD has just inspired me even more to finish! Some people take 4,5, even 6 tries to pass certain sections! You're not alone and it doesn't mean you can't do this because you didn't pass on your first try 🙂 Also when you re-studied for BEC you said you literally did everything you could. I also noticed you re-took it about 3 months later. Is there a reason it took you so long to retake it? 3 months is an awful long time to re-study for a test and you can forget key info that way! Lastly- have you tried Ninja notes? I used them on my third FAR attempt (and passed) and second AUD attempt (and killed it)- so please look into them- they seriously are my savior! And please don't give up 🙂

    FAR: PASSED!! 64, 68, 79 on 2/27/13!
    AUD: PASSED!! 73, 93 on 4/5/13!!!
BEC: PASSED!! 75 (phew) on 5/24/13!
REG: PASSED!!! 77 on 8/7/13 I AM DONE!!!!!

    Experience: got it!
Ethics Exam: PASSED on first try (what a waste of money)

This was my first attempt to take BEC and I failed. “71” . I put more hours to study for BEC than for AUD ( ” 80″). I used Becker . I remember the feeling when I left the testing center . Becker failed me. I have spent so many hours to go through all these insane calculation problems I did not focus on conceptual questions.

Now I am studying FAR, then REG. I figure that BEC I will leave at the end.

My question is how do you prepare for a retake ? Is it better to take it right away ? Or is it better to leave it and take it at the end.

Any thoughts on that one ?

thank you to everyone who responded– I really APPRECIATE all the kind words. I did over 5000 MCQ's and used Ninja notes, Yaegar and the wiley test bank, wiley book etc… I felt like I studied for one exam and took another exam all together. I don't know how to study for this test… I scored over 95% on all practice tests— I felt so sure I would pass this test and so confident… even when I did the MCQ's in the book, I get them correct–

Like I said- I just do not know how to study for this test…. (and to answer a question— I waited this long because we are moving in July and I needed to test as far into this testing window as possible because I believed I was going to pass and my 18 months would start— I won't be able to study for at least a month… so I didn't want to test in April then waste 2 more months)…

@KatieM- good luck with the move! Also just take a deep breath because you can't keep telling yourself you didn't pass when you don't know! Many people on here feel like they failed and then pass and vica versa. The best thing to do is just move on and start to study for the next section 🙂

    FAR: PASSED!! 64, 68, 79 on 2/27/13!

@KatieM You are NOT ALLOWED TO QUIT. It's that simple. I had to take auditing 4 times to pass, and it was horrible but quitting was not an option. The only way to truly fail is to quit!!!! Take a few days off from CPA study and move on to your next section. If it makes you feel any better I thought I failed my 4th audit try and ended up with a 92. It's so hard to tell with these tests after you take them so don't upset yourself anymore until you see your actual score.

Have a glass of wine and relax tonight, you deserve it!!!!!!!!! 🙂

    REG: 75 DONE 🙂
    AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂

thank you so much for the words of encouragement— I have spent the past 2 hours deciding what to do with my life… if it isn't going to be becoming a CPA… I think I need a drink… (I am not normally so negative)… just so deflated. I will be fine and back on the horse tomorrow…. I just really wish I knew how anyone passes this particular stupid exam? I see people with scores of 90 and I just have no clue how they did it.

just frustrated… I appreciate the words of encouragement and wisdom… I might be asking for some serious study help in the near future if doing the MCQ and rewriting notes didn't seem to work for me, then I don't know what to do… Maybe someone else had this same problem and found something else that worked for them…
