I can say that my experience today didn’t start out great and only got worse. I felt under prepared for the exam and in my first section in was almost half calculations. I was expecting a few but half!!!! Yikes. I thought to myself that my time per question strategy was going to be thrown out the window.

Next thing I know, I’m an hour end and not quite finished with the first section. I’m not sure if it is always like this but it was taking about 20 seconds to load each question. I assumed it was normal and moved on.

The next section was just as cruel, nearly half calculations. Where were my easy theory question??? Of course they couldn’t be as cruel for my third section. Guess what they could, it was even more intense. I really hadn’t counted on the long delay between questions.It kept me from checking any of my answers.

Then in the WC, it happened. The computer just locked up!!! It took almost 5 minutes for someone to come and turn off the program and restart it on another PC for me. It really ruined my concentration and I was so stressed through the WCs since I was already short on time. I finished the last one with 18 seconds to spare but I didn’t get to check any of the responses for errors.

Did anyone have that many calculations???? Is it normal to take that much time to load each question???

Sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. But did you mean 20 seconds to load from one question to another question within the same testlet?? maybe a stupid question but thats a really long time. I think when i took BEC it only took like 5-10 seconds. Loading from one testlet to another testlet was about 20 seconds I would say.

And oh man… you got a lot of calculations. We should switch, I love calculations and I hate theories, but instead I got lotsssssssss of theories, some of my questions were absolute out of my expectation like IFRS in BEC. Anyways, lets hope we pass.

I have taken a mental break and tried to regroup since my post. My system paused between each question in the testlet. Now that I am looking back, it may have been closer to 10 seconds instead of 20 but when you are waiting for the question to change, it felt like an eternity. The whole screen would turn white and I could hear the computer processing and then the next question would appear. The time between testlets was even worse. Looking back I should have said something earlier, I just thought it was normal and maybe it was.

As for calculations, I also like working them. My problem is that they take me longer. My approach was to give each question about 2 minutes but I can't work calculations that fast so I fell behind pretty fast. 🙁

Just goes to show that you never know what you are going to get on this exam. I don't think I got more than 1 economic question and nothing on IFRS.

Fingers crossed that neither of us has to rematch this test.

I hope that the fact that my testlets seems to get much harder is a good sign

Your testlets got more difficult as you progressed.. that's a good sign! A 10 second load time is a really long time.. Mine always loaded in maybe 2-4 seconds. I guess that it probably depends on the testing center.
