Jeff – plain and simple what do I need to buy for BEC retake. Not good at the usually stuff, cost, decision making, Variances. I have Wiley test bank and Roger full BEC. What would work for me? Notes or flash cards. I really hate flash cards.

Roger BEC + Wiley is a good start. I'm partial to my own stuff obviously. The NINJA Notes for IT are worth the price of admission in my own (biased) book. Buy the BEC notes and I'll toss in the flashcard app.

This is to any one out there that uses the Becker's BEC. If you had taken this exam in 2010 and now have to retake in 2012, did you get the new edition or stick with the 2010 edition? I have the 2010 edition and passed in 2010. But I'm going to loose credit for it next month and need to retake. I don't know if I can still use the 2010 edition to help pass this time or do I need to get the updated one. How much of a material update is there?

I used Becker 2012 but never used 2010. In my opinion, you should be ok because there wasn't any dated material in it that I can remember. No laws, regulations, etc. It's all stuff that should remain unchanged, except that now there is some guidance to the writing section which wasn't there before. You can probably get that info from elsewhere, including this forum.

That would be great if only the guiding to the writing section all it is new in the 2012 version cuz I really don't want to spend $600+ for the new edition. Was the guidance to the writing section part of the auxiliary reading material?

Kind of, it was just a separate lecture and pages in the book before the actual material started. Many of my friends who used Becker didn't even read it/listen to the lecture.

BEC changed in 2011. International Internal Auditing … Business Structures.

Wiley Test Bank + NINJA BEC Notes = $154.
