Theory vs. Application (MC Questions)

So, for those who have taken BEC in 2011, can you give any guidance as to what % of the questions you saw were theory (understanding concepts) vs. application (calculating answers using your understanding of theory as a basis for the answer)?

I take BEC at the end of the month (25th) and in my studying I find that the Becker Application questions are time-consuming (and sometimes rather difficult/intricate). I am just trying to budget how much extra time I need to spend doing “calculation” problems vs. “word” problems.

    Thanks in advance!

Hey! I took exam yesterday. Mine were about 50%/50%. The appication was fair game. The theory, on the other hand, kicked my butt!!!

I took the exam on 2/13 and from what I remember it was weighted more like 60%/40% theory/problems. The problems were maybe half and half as far as lengthy vs quick computation. In doing the Chapter 5 homework from Becker, I thought I'd never be able to finish the multiple choice to have time for writing, but I actually flew through the multiple choice, other than a few questions that I spent 10 minutes or more on just trying to come up with an answer that was one of the choices. I left myself with 45 minutes for the writing, so having spent 20-30 minutes on 2-3 questions still didn't hurt me too bad. And I only took that long because I knew I was ahead of my 45 min/testlest schedule I wanted to be on.

    BEC - 85
    AUD - 85
    REG - 76
    FAR - 82
