I am taking BEC on Sunday. I have been doing Becker’s FastPass all summer, so I am at about 2 full months of studying 8 hours a day 7 days a week. I think all of the studying just hit me because I can’t focus on studying for anything!! Do you think with BEC coming up in 6 days I need to try to focus as much as I can or is BEC one I can slack on with studying??

Also, does anyone have an opinion on the Becker question difficulty compared to the CPA exam for BEC? I have noticed a lot of the Becker questions are not completely covered in the book which worries me.

    Thanks!!

I keep pushing BED back. I was supposed to test on the 10th, then the 21st, now it is Aug 19th! I find it hard to wrap my mind around everything they expect you to know. I went through parts of B6 and B1 over the weekend (the parts that go together or are similar) and a second time through seemed to solidify a lot for me.

I agree about the Becker questions … On most the questions I am thinking where and when we went over that concept. Some of them are really abstract.

I don't know about Becker BEC compared to the exam, but I noticed that Becker questions usually get more involved than the actual exam questions do.

Good luck, This was more of an empathy post than advice!

I wouldn't recommend slacking on any of the exams 🙂 Take a day off, give yourself a breather, but then get back to it. Six days is a lot of time. I'm taking BEC in about 3 hours today and I was able to cover a LOT of areas I was weak on the past 2 days. This morning, I'm reviewing formulas to make sure they are fresh on my brain when I go into this test.

Don't get burned out right before your test! Stay focused and good luck!

Thanks! I feel pretty good about most concepts, with the exception of some IT stuff. This test covers such a broad range of topics I'm not sure what I should take the time to focus on!

Thanks for the advice!! I have been studying about 8 hours a day so maybe I should just drop down to 4 or 5 hours during this last week to prevent from burning out.

Thanks, CPA50 🙂 It's weird – I feel more prepared for this than I did for AUD or FAR, but that makes me more nervous! I think it's because I'm expecting that I'll pass, so I'm putting more pressure on myself. Ugh, this exam!

    Good luck tomorrow!

Well, my exam is over…overall, I thought it went well, but not as easy as I was hoping. The questions were a little trickier than I was anticipating, but there were only one or two that I was completely clueless on (the rest I could at least narrow it down to 2 choices). There were actually a few that were verbatim from the questions I studied, which was a nice surprise. The topics I had for the written section were much, much easier than I was expecting (I had no problem coming up with content). I didn't spend much time preparing myself for the written part, so I budgeted extra time for that section. I wish I would have spent a little more time on the MCQ, since I only need about 45 minutes for the written section…and even that was more than enough time to do all three. So, keeping my fingers crossed that I passed!

Anyway, good luck to you guys taking BEC this week!

@ Jilly Beans, what are you using to study multiple choice questions? I have been using Becker and have taken audit and FAR and so far no questions were the same at all! I would love to see some of my practice questions on my test. I can't wait to have this section over with- fingers crossed I pass on the first try.

I took BEC 3 weeks ago. I would say that you make sure you know computations very well. I had a lot of computations. You will not have much time to think, instead you have to be ready to solve problems right way or make the best quest. Other than that, I think it did not go very deep. IT was pretty broad for me. You just have to know basic IT.

    REG: 77 x2
    BEC: 81 x3
    FAR: 68 retake 10/1
    AUD: 8/27

Okay, good to know. A lot of the formulas are pretty simple, but there are a lot! I counted all in the Becker book and there are almost 80 formulas. I hope IT is kept broad in my test because IT isn't my strongest subject and no matter how much I study I just don't quite understand it.

    I've been using Ninja MCQ.

For IT, if you can get some of the terminology down and understand IT controls, you should be okay. That's one area I was actually hoping to get more questions on!

Hey Jilly! How was it? I think my brain just exploded from a lethal combination of over study, anxiety and oh, I forget the third.

Hey CPA50 – it went pretty well…I detailed out my experience a little more a few posts up. Basically, MCQ were a little more difficult than I was expecting, but the writing section was a breeze. Good luck today!!
