Oh, my! How on earth do you even begin to study for IT? In my opinion….there is NO way to memorize all of these terms. Does ANYONE have any pointers or suggestions? Wow!!!

I memorized a lot of them. What I suggest it to work all the problems now and then come back to it the day before the test and work all the problems again

Be familiar with overall IT security terms and you should be fine on the IT part. If you know your security terms and use common sense you'll be able to get a bunch of them right.. I used to be comp-sci engineering back in the day and there are some questions on there that even have me scratching my head but at the end you don't need to get every single one right…. what i suggest is to concentrate on parts of BEC that you can quickly nock out easy points like corporations etc and then with the extra time you have now that you answered the “easy” questions reason yourself through the other ones. Good luck!

    FAR - 2008 - 73 ~ Retook 8/28/2010 ~ 92
    BEC - 2008 - 86 ~ Lost it 10/23/2010 ~ 90
    AUD - 2009 - 79 ~ Lost it 11/30/2010 ~ ??
    REG - 1/8/2011 ~ ??

I didn't feel the IT was too overly specific. Understand the segregation of duties and major basic aspects of IT such as: basic network layout, business continuity (hot site/cold site…), and understand the major roles (application programming, database admin, etc).

I looked at the Becker supplement for like 30s but it had some pretty ridiculous things included like war driving…

Use Yaeger's Home Study. Do all of the Wiley questions and all of the Gleim questions on IT. If you still want to do more, get Kaplan's flash cards and audio for IT.

IT is scary and it is a big part of the CPA exam. It is no coincidence that the AICPA always tests us on things that we did not study in college.
