Can anyone tell me how they went about studying for IT? This section is becoming a real headache. The information looks the same and it just seems like its far too much to try to retain.

Find a good glossary of IT terminology that is tested and read through it multiple times.

Just be careful where you get it from. The instructor for Becker's Final review started out by saying that a CPU is the box that houses all the hardware related to the computer and next he went on to say – by motherboard put the word chip/processor. I turned it off right away as I do not need any confusion on a topic that is somewhat confusing anyway. The CPU is a processor and the motherboard connects all the components of the computer including the CPU. I wonder how many people get a question wrong from the material they learned incorrectly.

I never really got it 🙁 I'd just recommend getting a question bank and doing a ton of questions 🙁

    Gabe,

For whatever reason someone had to tell those who do not understand what a computer is that the “box” that is not the monitor is the CPU…

Actually a CPU is not the box itself, but the processor, at least in my mind. And the motherboard does not have anything to do with the processor as he stated other than the fact that this is where the processor and every other piece of hardware for that matter is connected. Just confusing the way he stated.
