I’m going to start study for BEC on Monday and I have 16 days available that I can study full time and 14 days part-time. I would appreciate any advice and tips how too study better for BEC and pass it on the first try.

Let NINJA MCQ be your best friend for BEC. COSO is a must know for the exam.

After I got through all of the material, I basically made about 4 pages of all of what I felt were must know formulas. Cost accounting, npv, variances, CAPM formula, ratios, etc. Including all of the COSO/ERM mnemonics. I rewrote and read those pages a couple times and practically memorized them.

I agree with Biff. Tech is definitely a wildcard but cost is extremely important. Anything is fair game though

Basically what everyone else suggested and also just brush up on your algebra skills. Good luck!

I just finished IC COSO and ERM… so much material, do I need to remember all the details?

BEC has about half the amount of material as FAR so in that regard, it's more manageable. The thing that makes it tough is since there's less material, the test gets crazy granular. I felt when I took the exam it was pretty evenly covered across the board. All subjects went into pretty good detail so I would not skimp on anything. I spent a lot of time memorizing all of the formulas which probably could have been better served reviewing the concepts in more detail. Get comfortable with answering the various types of calculation questions across your test bank efficiently. You'll need to conserve time for the essays. Good luck! I'm studying for FAR and the amount of material is insane! Running on fumes but can't give up now.

Thanks a lot for your advice! You're almost done, make sure you study well – governmental accounting! It's not that bad, just take a lot of time..
