I am studying BEC using the Becker Review and thought it may be helpful if a few of us studied the same material at the same time. My thoughts were that we could help each other understand some of the material that is hard to grasp. One person may have a good understanding of something and may be able to explain it to the rest of us. This is the first time I have studied for the CPA exam. I am about to start chapter 3 and have I have read and worked chapters one and two.

If you are interested are have another suggestion please post.

JCamp, I just started studying BEC with Becker as well. So far went over B1 chapter and lecture, still have to finish my homeworks. Are you located in NYC by any chance? Study groups have always worked for me, I really thinks it's a great idea.

What was the hardest topic for you in BEC?

I am glad a few people are interested in the study group. Study groups help me a lot. I am just starting section 3 in Chapter 3. For me Chapter one was the hardest to grasp. I think I will go back and listen to the lectures again. How is Chapter one going for you Jessistyle?

I'm done with chapter 2 now. I agree with you, JCamp, first chapter seems to be the hardest to grasp, mostly because of Corporate Governance theory – way too conceptual. However cost accounting part is pretty straight forward.

As to chapter 2, I wish it was the major part of BEC, it's just all makes so much sense for me!

I don't know if any of you studying Becker noticed, but video lecture for task-base simulation on page B2-109 is full of mistakes. So don't get confused with the actual number in that table (they were supposed to make it easier to understand!). If you know what mistakes I'm referring to than you got it! If you are still trying to figure out how they got some of those number, please let me know, I'll be happy to go over this table and point out those mistakes.

Here is an idea, we could each post the homework problems that is giving us the most trouble and see if someone else can help? I am in Chapter 3 but still have a few HW problems in chapter 2 that I do not understand and decided I would skip them and come back to them later. Thoughts?

What do you have marked for later? Maybe you can list a few of those HW questions' numbers (B2-CPA-XXXXX) and we'll see if someone has a better understanding and can explain them in plain English

I will go back and redue the HW in chapter 2 tomorrow and post the ones I am having trouble with. I will use your example of (B2 CPA – XXXX). Maybe if we all start with Chapter 2. we can get a understanding of all the questions?

Sorry I have not posted lately, I been traveling. I should finish all the HW on Chapter 2 by tomorrow and will start Chapter 3. I agree tnyfn20, I found chapter 3 hard to understand.

There were a few questions that I did not understand in Chapter 3. I am hoping the second time around they will make since.
