    Shouldn’t this include differentiation as well? It seems like my material only mentions maintaining a market share, and assisting to competition price cuts,

    That'd be more monopolist than oligopoly. I think oligopoly can be both heter and homogeneous. But product differentiation is more of a strategy than anything. Usually when you compete with other firms by slashing prices your product does not have a differentiating factor so I'm assuming that's the reasoning.
