I feel ready for BEC, however my exam is 30 days away. Should I just keep practicing this torture over and over or take the plunge and move it up? The only reason I want to move it up is so I can save more time for FAR which I want to take by 8/31?. I have been studying BEC for 6 weeks and it is a retake for me.

    Reg 11/15/2011 - 80
    Aud 02/28/2012 - 81
    Bec 05/31/2012 - 78

There is such a thing as overkill. A total of 10 weeks for BEC is a bit much even if you're working full time and especially if it's a retake. If you're ready, you're ready. Go reschedule it for a closer date and nail it before you become complacent with the material. And give yourself as much time as possible to nail FAR.

    Good luck!!

I agree – if you really feel like you're ready, I'd move it up. Having passed AUD and REG, you probably already know what level of preparation is needed to pass, so trust that. Many times when people have TOO much time to study, they begin to lose focus, get complacent, and slack off. The final weeks end up doing more harm than good.

    Good luck to you!

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 88
    REG - 87
    FAR - 86 - Woot, all done!
    Ethics - 100

I agree with the other comments… and your score wasn't too far from the mark the first time. If you feel prepared now, then take it sooner rather than later… before you completely burn out and slam into the wall.

    REG - passed (expires 5/13)
    AUD - passed
    FAR - passed
    BEC - passed 4/17

    DONE!!!

I need a good advice too,

I am in the same place, but I havent signed up for BEC yet. I have been studying in Feb 1.(no job too). I havent taken any parts of CPA yet. originally I wanted to study as much as possible and take it may 31, but I feel like its too much torture, should I go take the exam next week? or what else there I could learn? I am struggling with Cost ACCT, but I cant help it .

I am using Becker 2012, Wiley Book 2012, Wiley test bank 2011.

you Are ready, and its better to feel a little underprepared in last week so you can give your all to final review than feeling over-prepd which could result in slacking off. Look at it this way, right now you're scheduled to sit on May 31, instead you could have another passing score on May 23rd.

I havent signed up for date yet. because I knew I would be under pressure to skip materials. I just saw exam date on the promatric website. only dates are open from May 1-May 22nd.

Thank you all for the comments. I took March off due to tax season but cranked all Feb and very hard studying the last two weeks of April. I will slay my beast. Thanks again

Move it ahead. Though it may seem counter intuitive, time is your enemy with these exams. A little more time is always good, but a lot more time can hurt more than it helps since you will have to spend a good bit of your time just relearning things in order to merely maintain your knowledge and keep it fresh.

    BEC 86 (08/30/11)
    FAR 84 (10/13/11)
    REG 88 (11/08/11)
    AUD 86 (11/29/11)
