I took a leave of absence from work to devote myself to this journey. I lost my FAR credit after failing BEC. I had passed all parts except for BEC. I studied full time for 3 weeks using Yaeger Cram, doing all MCQ’s, reviewed for 3 days. I went from a 60 to a 70 in BEC. I have scored weaker in the sims on both exams. I have been studying for FAR for 3 weeks but I think I should switch and try to take BEC asap in Oct. My question is how should I prepare for this most efficiently. I have watched videos twice, taken copius notes, used the Wiley test bank, answered the MCQ’s. I did not rewrite the Ninja notes, or read the Ninja notes 5 times.

Should I watch videos again or just focus on the MCQ’s, Sims and Wiley Test bank? Is 2 weeks enough time to review (probably averaging 40 hours a week). In the last exam I ran out of time for the WC and only answered one well, which is why I think I failed because my MCQ’s were comparable.

    FAR 61 78*
    AUD 73 76
    REG 64 68 75
    BEC 60

    *expired 6/9/13

When you're re-studying, you have to remember that you're going for 75 points again, not just for the 5 that you missed. So I would say that you need to do a review material start-to-finish again. However, in order to be efficient, I'm going to plug my favorite review materialWiley books. You could read through the Wiley BEC book ($25 on Amazon used) in probably about 10-20 hours. I'm guessing that your lectures take far more time than that! If you did something like get the Wiley book, then in the first week, you could have the book read and start drilling your MCQs, SIMs, etc., both from WTB and from your old review material. Also be using the notes, if you like them.

However, if it was me, I'd probably finish the studying for FAR and take that one, then squeeze BEC in at the end of the window. *shrug* To each his own, but I'd hate to switch studying in the middle of one. 😛
