    Here’s my situation:

    AUD credit will expire 9/9/2014

I was hoping to pass BEC in Feb.. but just found out I ended up with another 72. 🙁

I’ve already signed up for REG and will take that on April 7th. I’m estimating between now and April 7th, I should be able to get a minimum of 80 hrs study time in.

Which leaves me with… do I reapply for BEC and try to take that again ASAP after REG? I also wanted to try and have a shot at FAR in the 2Q testing window (by end of May), however failing BEC again leaves me thinking that I might have to push FAR to July to have any hope.

Even then.. if I fail FAR (and still pass REG & BEC in 2Q), I lose AUD. Blah!

Thoughts? Should I try to take BEC before the end of Apr, then FAR by end of May (just so I can get a feel for FAR, even if I don’t pass)?

I feel like I’m in quite the pickle, but could be worse.

    ----------
    AUD - 74, 77! (1/2016)
    BEC - 80! (5/2016)
    REG - tbd (8/2016)
    FAR - tbd

@DeterminedCPA- thanks! I guess April and May will be some crazy months for me… I have narrowed it down to REG April 7th, BEC last week of Apr/first week of May… then FAR as late as possible in May.

I have to pass one if not all!!!

By the way, does anyone know if BEC formulas and knowledge transfers at all to the FAR material?

@TXCPAGAL12, I'll be taking FAR last so I haven't started studying the material for it yet, but I did look through my review book quickly already and saw a MCQ dealing with the current ratio. I'm sure someone else can answer your question in much more depth than me, but I know there's at least one formula that is in both of my review books!

Only some of the equations for BEC and also covered in FAR. Most of them you won't need to know for FAR. I would take BEC at the end of May and give yourself as much time as possible for FAR. It is a LOT of material, but doable from May to July or even August.

Thanks! I'm starting to re-think FAR… I may just give it all I have (which I should be doing all along..) June and July and take it mid-end July… with hopes of passing it on the 1st try!!!

I think one mistake people make when trying to finish their exams before a section expires is rushing to finish everything without being realistic. I am not saying this is your situation, since you have until Sep 9. Just make sure that you set realistic goals and study time frames for each section going forward. Don't try to cram things to get it in before the section expires and end up failing those sections anyway.

At this point, you should have a clearer idea of your study pace and how much you can push it.

Personally, if you're just looking at the windows, take REG on 4/7 and take FAR some time in late May (if you think you can get through the preparation for it). That way, if you have to retake REG or FAR, you can do it in the Jul/Aug window. Plan on taking (and passing) BEC in the Jul/Aug window. Based on your struggle with BEC, you may have a tough time with FAR. Maybe you made some study style mistakes on BEC and have learned from it (something to think about), but if you are just having a tough time learning the material in a short time frame, then it may not be wise to strain too hard.

Do you realistically think you can pass FAR/REG on the first try? Have you learned anything from BEC that could help you modify your methods going ahead?

This is all a simple plan, but only you can judge whether the timelines are realistic to prepare for each section. My only warning would be to not try to finish everything before AUD expires and just end up rushing and failing all your exams and losing your AUD credit. That would feel like a terrible defeat. But, I suppose it depends on how much of a risk taker you are and what you're comfortable with.
