Hey, i will be taking BEC on aug 30th so i have about 20days left to study for. I used becker to study my materials and finished all the lectures and hw. Ive been scoring around 60-70% on the hw and i feel like my hw scores are too low n not confident on passing the exam. i know i still have time but i want to know how should i be reviewing for the exam for the given amount of time i have left. I did take handwritten notes for each section which was really time consuming. Should i be resolving all the hw problems and rereading the lectures? or go straight into taking final exams and comprehensive exams and reviewing for those?? sorry if im asking a stupid question …im in panic mode right now because i feel so unprepared.

At the very least, you should go back through the HW/MC problems you got wrong and understand WHY you got them wrong. If your handwritten notes do not include information that shows why your answer was wrong, add them in there so you don't forget. After that I would say try doing a performance test for each chapter in becker with 50-60 questions for each chapter.

If you do well on those (80+% correct each time), I would say you are pretty close to being ready for the exam. Go ahead and do 1-2 of the Becker test simulations and see how well you do on those MC. Again, if you get questions wrong here, make sure they are in your handwritten notes.

After that, go crazy on reviewing your hand written notes and doing MC over and over again. If you feel like you are simply memorizing every answer and not gaining anything from the Becker MC anymore, try going to one of the free websites that have CPA questions on them (and/or try doing the questions released this year by the AICPA. I found them to be VERY helpful for the REG exam I just took a few weeks ago). You should be on your way to a CPA after doing all of this!

I know many people on this site are against re-reading the chapter so close to the exam, however, for my final review, It always helps me to re-read each chapter and do its MCQs/SIMs until I score around 90%. Then after each chapter, I take a progress test. After chapter 2, I'll do progress test of Ch1-2, then after ch 3, it's 1-3, and so forth.

I'm mainly using Becker and supplementing with Wiley.
