I got a 67 on BEC and I am planning on retaking it in January. Has anyone failed and retaken BEC? How long did you study before the exam. Did you watch the lecture videos (I have Becker)? How relieable are the candidate preformance reports on strengths and weakness. I REALLY WANT TO PASS THIS SECTION ON MY SECOND TRY. I NEED HELP

Yes, I saw the Becker's supplemental for BEC IT and I even printed it. But I got to tell you, I never read a word of it becasue I have 7 years of software development experience and my undergrad and graduate degree were both heavy in Information Technology. Nothing in the Becker review or the BEC exam surprised me. I guess I was a little lucky. Sometimes it takes luck more than knowledge to pass these exams. At least it seems that way sometimes.

I studied BEC and REG simultaneously, as I took them both in the same window. I studied a LONG TIME for both of those, as I felt they were my weakest areas.

BEC is tough. You can't gain points by BSing on a written communication, as it currently stands.

30 pages of supplemental info is overkill, IMO. They can only test so much. I only started to think I could pass this exam when I realized that I didn't have to know every single little thing in the book. If you think you need to know every little thing you see in the books, you are going to drive yourself crazy….and you'll lack confidence.

I got the Whiley BEC book to supplement my Becker books and some of the information and questions in the Whiley BEC book aren't covered in the Becker book? Are these questions and material not important….is that why Becker leaves out the material?

I don't know about the Wiley book, futureCPA86, but all I can say is that I took BEC last month, studied with Becker and I didn't get any questions on the exam of topics not covered by the Becker review.

Hello Zena, I see that you took REG on FEB 19. I am planning on taking it in the begining of April. How long did you study for it and what advice would you give me for it. I am taking BEC Feb 27 and I feel well prepared. I am using Becker to study. Do you feel that Becker was enough for REG?
