Got my score back for BEC and it was abysmal. I definitely knew by the first couple of questions I was in for tough time. I’m using Surgent and was wondering if anyone had passed just using it? I’m implementing this new method of using adaptive for 10 questions for each section (corp governance, economics, Finance, IT, Cost accounting) and then any questions I get wrong I write them in a spreadsheet and put the reference location next to it. Maybe this works, I plan to take at the end of February God willing. Please note I had passed this exam in the past with a 75, I remember that exam not being as difficult as the one I took recently. Any advice would be great I have 10 months to finish 3 exams before FAR is gone

I struggled with BEC big time and did not feel like I was grasping a lot of the “formula/calculation” type material with Surgent. I turned to Ninja to get a different angle and the Sparring Videos with Ninja Mike really helped break down all of that stuff, specifically cost accounting and variance analysis. I didn't watch all of the videos but I am curious if I would have been more efficient if I did. Although I do I think the videos can be long, but worth it if you are struggling with a topic.

Do you feel Surgent alone was enough to pass FAR? or did you supplement?

I used Surgent alone to pass REG, and I felt prepared and scored well. Currently looking for best way approach to study for FAR and AUD.

I felt Surgent alone was good for FAR, it's a grind though. I also got a test that was tough but hit a lot of my strong subjects for FAR and I passed with a 78. Doesn't mean squat if I can't get over the BEC and AUD hump (REG is not a problem for me) I'm just trying to rethink how to do BEC again, what were you trending on BEC and what was your passing score for BEC?

Sorry to hear that, but don't give up! Re-study the areas you weren't as comfortable with and I'd recommend using Roger CPA's cram course or something similar to help condense the material.
