SO! I just took my first exam last week, gave myself a week to recoup, now starting with BEC. I am scheduled to take it August 28th as of now. The issue: I am going on a 2 week vacation next week, and will not really be studying. Which is fine since I have 5 weeks to study.

I plan on having 2 chapters done before I leave, and then while I’m away, I just plan on reviewing those chapters continuously to keep the material fresh and make sure I don’t have to start over once I am back home.

My question for someone who is studying/has taken BEC: Which chapters do you recommend doing that are easy to review on the go, without the use of pens/highlighters/calculators. I plan on finishing chapter 1 today, but chapters 2 and 3 look very math intensive, which may be difficult to study for on a plane/train/bus. I was thinking of having 1 & 4 done to review. Does anyone have advice or an opinion on the matter?

Oh yeah, and I am using Becker to review and supplementing with NINJA notes!

    Thanks so much 🙂

    BEC: 86

DONE DONE DONE and DONE all on the first try! It IS possible, just keep on studying!

Alot of BEC has computations but from what I can remember (took BEC in July of last year) chapter 1 is not overly intensive and chapter 5 is very conceptual as well. There are a fair amount of formulas in 5 but there is also a lot of concept to try and grasp might try taking a look at it.

I would say work on the subjects that you already feel somewhat comfortable with. It'll make it easier to study and review. Corporate governance and IT will probably have the least computational problems. Economics is also a fairly straight forward subject, but it all depends what you are comfortable with.

cb: Sounds like you have a good plan. BEC is probably the one test that you could jump from unit to unit. I would recommend the same as @needcoffee. Either do Becker 1 and 4 (corp governance and IT) or 1 and 5 (economics). You may need to bring a calculator for economics to calculate some of the %s (elasticities and whatnot), but you should be able to manage either.

Anyways, I need some coffee. Back to studying.

Before you leave, make flashcards of all the formulas from the thread below and review or write them at least once a day while you're gone. A good portion of this exam is calculations. If you know the formulas then it will be much easier to study and do the MCQ when you come back.

If it were me, I would buy ninja audio, get it on your device and listen to it ever chance I had. Just me though.

I am 100% with what Mjganier said. Use your 2 week vacation to study formulas; you will be so glad you did!
