Sooooo I just took my first test today, 8/31. BEC… I’m am pretty sure I failed, I had a major anxiety attack. Anyways, I have FAR scheduled for 10/22. My thing is, if I do fail BEC then I want to take it again and soon so that I can remember the things I already know.

Jeff is estimating BEC wave 2 score release for September 15th… Should I just continue to study for BEC and then when the scores are released (assuming I do fail) re-schedule for BEC in early October and push back FAR to Nov?? Or would it be smarter to just start studying FAR, take FAR on my scheduled date in October and if I fail BEC, take that in November?? I just don’t want to confuse myself but I don’t know which one would be better

    Any advice???

I would start studying FAR. There is always a chance you passed BEC and then you would have wasted your time continuing to study for it.

    FAR - 86, REG - 93, AUD - 87, BEC - 86

Study for FAR… Some of the concepts will help you anyway plus if you do pass you haven't wasted any time… Take it from experience you will not forget as much as you think you will of BEC topics…

    BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

I'd go ahead and start studying for your next section, FAR and BEC are pretty different so I doubt it would confuse you. If you were talking about REG I might say differently since REG and FAR tend to be confusing together (since one is tax and the other GAAP). But for FAR and BEC, I think you'll be fine. Plus, it would be better to wait until you see your score anyway to gauge how you need to study. For example if you get a 74 you know you just need to solidify some concepts… if you get a 50 maybe think about switching programs (i.e. from Becker to Yaeger or something)…

but…. the biggest reason you should wait is you have NO IDEA how you did until you see your score. I cried during FAR in the testing center and I passed. I almost did what you did in that I almost kept studying FAR cause I was just so certain I failed. I think there's really no way of knowing how you did until you see your score. Plus this if your first section so you don't know what it feels like to fail or pass (if you know what I mean). Anyway, try to have some patience and move on to FAR!

    FAR-91 (7/29)
    AUD-99 (8/23)
    BEC-90 (10/1)
    REG-99 (11/3)

FACT!!! lol, at work – they told me not to come in after my exam, but I am new here so figured I would make a good impression 😀

Haha. I purposely took the day after my exam off since I knew I'd be useless at work. I had all these big plans for the day like running and cleaning and I basically haven't moved since I got up. I am burned out.

    FAR - 86, REG - 93, AUD - 87, BEC - 86

I took REG in July and I was pretty sure I failed too. To my surprise I ended up with a 79. This test is crazy. You never know until you get your score how things will turn out. If you blew off studying or something then I would say you probably have reason to think you failed but if you studied chances are you passed.

    Good luck!

I came in after work as well… and I can say I have legitimately done nothing productive… at least as far as my actual job is concerned. Completely burnt out, I can not think anymore today. I'm taking tonight off, here I come couch!!

Thanks for the advice everyone 🙂 Good luck on your upcoming tests!
