Need Some Help!!!

Yesterday I sat for BEC, my first exam on this CPA journey. No idea if I passed or failed, I think it can go either way.

I purchased Gleim in 2012-the Test Bank and Books for all four sections. Do I need to purchase the new version of Gleim? Are my Test Bank questions still valid/relevant for 2013 and going forward for 2014? A Gleim rep contacted me to let me know that I should purchase the new questions for 2014, due to “changes on the exam”. I am skeptical about purchasing something new, because i saw a repeat of questions and concepts on BEC exam I took yesterday that was in the Gleim test bank.

Additionally, since I have AUD, REG, and FIN in the pipeline, is it work purchasing Gleim Audio? I was contemplating Ninja Audio. I did purchase BEC Ninja Notes, but due to the close proximity of the exam date, I was not able to re-write the notes as Jeff suggested.

    Thank you.

I also have Gleim, so in order to answer your question I need a little bit more info from you. Do you have the online version of Gleim or one you install on your computer? I know in 2013 they changed it so that it's all online, but there were versions of it prior to that that were available to download on your computer. But if you have the online version, then everything online is already updated. All of the questions and the online learning info is updated. The only thing you don't have updated is the books, but you can't purchase the books separately from the system from them.

As for the audio, if you have the system where they show you the audio/visual presentation, the audio files are the exact same thing. So it may be more beneficial for you to purchase the Ninja Audio, but it is your choice really. I use the Ninja audio because it provides a different aspect to the material, so it helps me to get what doesn't click from learning it from Gleim.

I have the install version, I purchased all four sections between April and June 2012. I am wondering if it makes sense to purchase the new version, because the same MCQ I studied with, I saw the similar questions on the actuall BEC exam. Gleim sales person, was trying to convince me that my test questions are now obsolete!!!

Your test questions are not obsolete. I saw several of the exact questions from the software on my AUD exam as well. Your practice questions will provide you with proper studying, except for where they have changed and added parts of the exam, like with REG the tax numbers are always changing, AUD now has the clarity standards. You will need those updated in order to properly study, but your questions are not obsolete.
