I took BEC today and was lucky enough to get the stomach flu last night. I spent quite a bit of the night throwing up and definitely not sleeping. I went into the exam feeling terrible but was able to finish the entire exam as it was too late to change my test date. I thought the written communications parts were really easy and the test groups were something like Easy, Hard, Medium I would guess. I was really disappointed that there were barely any computation problems, almost all theory. I had maybe 5 questions that I need to do the math for, and theory is not my strong suit. OH well, we’ll see how I did.

Has anyone had a test heavy on computation problems?

I took the test last week and was surprised by the lack of computational problems (maybe 25% of the MC). Since Becker focuses a lot on calculating answers, I felt a bit unprepared for the heavy emphasis on theory during the actual test. That being said, the testlets went easy-medium, medium-hard, medium-hard. Unless I'm really out of touch with reality, that should be a good indicator that I was scoring well on the first 2 testlets.

Took the test this past Thursday….testlets went easy, extremely hard, then medium….writing was good

    I had more computational though

Why be afraid of what we do not understand?

I've heard so many times that the harder the testlets become the better you did on the previous testlet. I took AUD in February and had medium, hard, hard. The second and third testlets were obviously more challenging because the questions seemed like a mile long and the answers were all sentences. Well I ended up with an abysmal score of 50! after leaving the test feeling very confident. Are we positive that a hard testlet means we did better on the one before?

Yeah if you do well it gives you harder testlets, with questions worth more points on average. I've noticed it can definitely be hard to distinguish between testlets they decide are “hard” or “medium,” however.

When doing the exam it felt like half of them had to be calculations…it might have been a little less than that though….i'd take a heavy theory exam any day of the week though

Ah I think that's what it is then. I'm generally more comfortable with calculations and the ones on the test weren't that difficult(mostly) for me. I spent a lot more time working through theory questions which may have skewed my perception on the actualy number of theory/math questions.
