I was wondering if you could give me some encouragement/advice.

I am quite sure you have used Wiley for your test prep. I am using Wiley for BEC. For AUD, I used NIU CPA Review, which was awesome, but because of financial reasons, I went with Wiley because I could check it out at my library for free:-)

I am so overwhelmed with the amount of material in Wiley for some reason! I can’t seem to find a good way to study with Wiley for BEC. The questions are brutal and by the time I am done with them, I can’t remember how to solve them. It’s a vicious cycle for me.

If you don’t mind, can you give me some advise on how to study with Wiley for BEC. I am okay with Corporate Governance, IT, and Economics, it’s the rest that I am going nuts over.

    Thank so much!

@jsimus I actually used WTB and would do 20-question practice sessions from the unseen question pool with all categories selected, so that I could get questions from all topics. The one-question-per-chapter was my best idea for converting this method to the book, but with WTB, I'd just let them do the picking! Does that answer your question?

@liss Haha good memory. 🙂 Yes, boyfriend's uncle told me in a know-it-all manner that I couldn't pass these tests without going to a class. Not “without videos”, not “can't pass on your first try”, just “can't pass without a class”. So, will be nice to see him at Thanksgiving and respond to any questions with “Yes, I did pass my exams – all of them – on the first try with just books and practice questions.”

    Congrats on your pass Lilla,

How much reading time do you think there is for far. or do you suggest going straight to wtb since I took far and failed miserably the first time and use the book as a source if I should get too many wrong out of the 20 practice.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

I would definitely read the book still. It's super long, it sucks, but I'd read it. I think it took me around 30 hours to read, if I remember right? It's dry as the dessert and boring as can be, but it's worth it!

First off, Lilla, CONGRATS on passing all the sections of this exam!

I just wanted to let you know that I passed BEC!

After your advice, I switched the way I was approaching this exam. There was nothing in this book that appealed to me. It was agony studying for this exam. I felt hopeless, but after taking your advice above, within a couple weeks, it started to “click.” I struggled with a section, but, I felt that I had a good understanding of all the other topics. Phew!

I am a firm believer of Wiley and Lilla's method! I will use this method for REG.

Thank you so much for your advice!

Aww I'm so glad that you passed!! 🙂 And glad that I could help. There's definitely nothing exciting about Wiley but it gets the job done. Good luck with REG!! You can get this one too!

    P. S. Have you realized you are halfway done with these??
