    Hello everyone,

    I am scheduled to take BEC on Wednesday (11/14). I was not able to effectively use my month of study time and I am feeling very under prepared. I have taken off work tomorrow and I plan on spending all day in the library studying. Can anyone provide me with advice on how I should use this time to study? What key topics should I focus on? I am currently using 2012 Becker materials.

    Please note that rescheduling is not an option since my wife is scheduled to give birth to our first child next Monday.

    Thanks!

    @FLCPA You have dang good scores on the other parts. How long did you study for those? And how much time and how many chapters of Becker have you been able to get through of BEC? When does your NTS expire and how close are you to any of your other parts expiring?

    Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to get a sense of where you are at to offer some help.

    Memorize all of the formulas. I made flashcards for all of mine and I think there were over 60 formulas. I rewrote formulas for hours the night before the exam.

    I studied roughly 8 weeks for FAR, 6 weeks for AUD, and 7 weeks for REG..I was able to get through all the Becker chapters for BEC, but I really rushed through the MCQs. My NTS expires 11/20 and my first exam expires sometime in 2014.

    @CLB

    Thanks for the advice.

    @FLCPA It sounds like you are pretty quick at grasping the topics given the time you have studied for the other parts. At a minimum, you should work through all of the MC's at the end of each Becker Chapter. Then focus on those areas and problems that are giving you trouble.

    Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I was not able to go through all the Becker MCQ's since I had limited time. I basically spent my entire day going through the book while mixing in a few MCQs.

    I sat for BEC this morning and it was brutal. I am pretty confident that BEC got the best of me this time, because I found myself guessing on way to many answers.

    I'm taking mine tomorrow and going over the WC in Becker & Wiley, as well as the computations. Don't think I have time to take the pre-test. Do you think this is a better way to spend my time? Thanks.

    BEC is probably the most random exam out of them all. I also felt like I guessed on half of my answers and there were many that I have never seen before. For last minute crams, I would advise to review COSO framework, ERM framework, and IT. Secondary topics to review are variances and econ. The rest are just going to depend on your exam testlet

    I wouldn't worry about taking the practice exams or practicing the written communication. My recommendation for the WC is to come up with a good format and basically fill in the blanks.
