Hello,

I am a first time poster, long time reader. Today, I took BEC (my first time ever taking any part of the CPA). I am concerned because I didn’t really notice testlets getting harder. I finished the third with over an hour left for WCs. Looking back on it, there were many questions asked that were ancillary on Becker or not even mentioned. I was able to work through most of them though and felt comfortable with the content overall.

Any words of encouragement from those who have taken BEC / those who have passed?

Words of encouragement: 1) How you feel on a test rarely matches up with how you actually did on a test, and 2) I don't think that I noticed my testlets getting any harder with BEC, and I passed

On a side note, I've heard that Becker's BEC section is lacking for this year. If you failed this time around, I'd suggest supplementing with Wiley or maybe CPAexcel. I've never actually studied with Becker though, so take that with a grain of salt. :o)

to be perfectly honest (and not trying to brag here) I found my BEC exam incredibly easy. By the third testlet I was laughing and left thinking I failed because the questions were so straight forward and simple. I think I got the same question asked 3 times (thankfully I knew the answer). Don't be discouraged. Enjoy this because REG/FAR are not nearly as simple.

I heard BEC's 3 testlets have the same difficulty level unlike FAR. It may be the case for you. Don't worry too much.

I posted the same feelings after BEC. I didn't notice them getting harder and could have sworn I was messing up left and right. It worked out okay for me :).

I found BEC to be easier by the Testlests, from 1st to 3rd I marked less and less questions to go back and review. Received an 89%. I personally felt like Becker covered everything very well.
