AnonymousInactiveThis is my current percentages in Wiley Test Bank. I am just wondering, are these good percentages to have? Also, I plan to exclude all of the sessions and do more MCQ to see where I currently am with each topic.

Financial management: 62%
Information technology: 67%
Cost measurement and assignment: 79%

acampParticipantIn that case, I'd say you're in the danger zone. Need to get everything to at least 70% but more like 80% to be remotely comfortable, all providing you do well on the sims.
I was generally in the 70-80% range by test day, but I also scored above average on the sims/writing portion for all my exams, which is how I got by with relatively low MCQ scores. I did this by getting very good at using the guidance.

AnonymousInactiveI do feel like I am in a lot better shape than the first time around. My percentages were around 45%-65% prior to my first BEC attempt and I got a 70 on the actual exam.

sewatk01ParticipantI think it also depends on how well you ‘use' these scores. For BEC I took every single WTB question once in practice mode where you can see the answer after each question. I used my book to help with many of the equations and scored, on average, 60-75%. I was very anxious because I knew these scores were low. I didn't repeat the questions to up my percentages, but I read every answer for the ones I got wrong and felt like I could remember most of them…and it worked 🙂 Good luck – just make sure you are focusing on quality with the MCQs…spend time reading the answers even if that means you don't get to redo the questions multiple times.

AnonymousInactiveBe careful looking at your percentages. You may, I know this from experience, try to increase those percentages and end up memorizing the answers to the questions and not really understand why the right answer is right and the wrong answers are wrong. There was a point in time that I could tell you, after reading the first sentence of a Wiley question, what the answer was and whether it was A, B, C or D. I memorized the answers and failed the tests! I got a new laptop so I don't have the screen shot of my REG % before my 7th attempt, but they were all 95% or better. I got a 73 on the test.

Thanks for the heads up. This memorizing answers is indeed something that concerns me when I use a test bank. To mitigate this somewhat, when I first went through the material, I only did CPAexcel MCQ (which unfortunately does not record your results in practice mode), and now in the review phase I am going through Wiley MCQ. So I can say with some confidence that I am not really memorizing multiple choice questions in Wiley (though that might change as I plan to do non-stop MCQ and flashcards in my final week before the exam).

JasperMemberMy experience with WTB scores and how they relate to my final CPA score are as follows:
FAR: WTB last average score before test=88, FAR CPA test score=82
BEC; WTB last average score before test=90, BEC CPA test score=82
AUD WTB last average score before test=94, AUD CPA test score=93
REG: WTB average score currently=90; REG CPA test score=TBD
In my experience the higher you can get those test bank scores the better.

KimboroniMemberI think the 80+% is a good guideline, but if anyone is reading this and starting to panic because you are about to test and aren't up that high, DON'T PANIC! They are only guidelines, since the test banks and the real test score completely differently. You could end up doing just fine, even if you're not up to 80% on practice.
For AUD, I was getting about 70-75% on new questions (so I know I wasn't memorizing them) and ended up doing just fine on the test. But I know I'm not that strong on MCQ, so I made sure to be as well prepared for the SIMs as I could be to make up for it (they're worth 40%, so that can make a big difference). It worked. So don't panic– don't focus on percentage– focus on learning the material.

ricepersonParticipantIf you memorize a question, don't worry. Just stop what you're doing. Read the question, assess the situation and then just go over why the other answers are wrong and why the answer is right. And then go to the book and look up if you missed something that would have stopped you from getting that answer if you didn't know what it was already.
