I don’t know whether to just say screw this or to get angry and kick BEC’s *ss Q1/14.
Sorry, rant over.

AnonymousInactiveAs an 8 time BEC'er…I can honestly say you are not the only one…and I vote for ANGRY!!! You are not your boss so let her comments roll off like dirty water. You can do this! Keep working hard and don't give up.

vanadium3MemberBEC's tough if you get unlucky because all your points are in multiple choice unless you don't know how to write 3 paragraphs.. You have to study everything and understand the basics. No way around it except doing multiple choice and get over at least 85% on wiley test bank. I used CPAExcel, wiley, and then bought Yaeger.. finally passed after so many tries. 70, 69, 74, 77.
Hanging in there. It's only a matter of time!

AnonymousInactiveI didn't pass BEC this window either. That test was hard! My test taking strategy was all wrong. I was so damn worried about not having enough time for the written part that I didn't fight through the computations like I should have. The written part is only worth 15%, so I might have passed if I left all the sims blank and spent 15 minutes working through each computational question that gave me grief. My feeling was that if I couldn't figure it out in five minutes it was time to take the best guess and move on. Probably a good strategy for the other exams that weigh the sims as 40% of the score.

AnonymousInactiveI vote for get angry. Believe me it works. It forces you to focus your energy and attention on the exam. You can take my advice with a grain of salt or take it to heart, but the first thing I think you should do is find out how you learn. Do a google search for learning style inventory and you can find a bunch of them out there for free. I had already done one and then went to Sylvan learning center looking for help. They had me take the same type of test. I found out that I learned better by listening instead of reading. You are not an idiot. You are not a number. For some people this exam is a sprint and for others it's a marathon. Don't let other people get you down. You can do this. I know you can whether you know it or not. Confidence is a big part of passing.
There is a song that I absolutely loved called Remember the Name by Fort Minor. For me it pretty much sums up the CPA exam.
10% Luck
20% Skill
15% Concentrated Power of Will
5% Pleasure
50% Pain and
100% Reason to Remember the Name

Not a QuitterParticipantNo, it's not just you. I just received my second 60 on REG. Granted, I knew I wasn't completely prepared but when I see people post passing scores, especially high passing scores and say they are shocked- they guessed a lot- it baffles me. Why can't I get that lucky? Or maybe they are just saying that?
FAR- 85 I'm DONE!
BEC- 75
REG- 60,60,75
AUD- 74,74,83CPAExcel used for BEC, AUD, REG
Exam Matrix used for FAR plus NINJA Blitz, cpareviewforfree and a little CPAExcelDecember 18, 2013 at 4:10 pm #495928

sonygal57MemberI think BEC is best to take after you have taken the other 3 sections because in my experience BEC contained both AUD and FAR material. I felt the MCQs were easy but for me the WC were out of this world. I can write, and I do have to write at work, but I did not feel prepared for the questions the WC asked. I know I slaughtered the MCQ and where I almost didn't pass was in the WC because I didn't know any of the buzz words for the questions mainly because I hadn't studied AUD or REG yet. I strongly recommend the WTB for MCQs because I thought 90% of the MCQs I saw on test day were familiar…that being said the WC thtrew me off because I hadn't seen some of the material yet….Taking FAR and AUD before BEC may be a good strategy.
Good old Gandalf, "All we have to do is decide what to do with the time that is give to us."
"Not all those who wander are lost."FAR: I slayed the Dragon!
BEC: I defeated the Siren!
AUD: I eliminated Medusa!
