Hi everyone,

I’m wondering how everyone feels about the WC on BEC. Are these basically free points on the exam as long as you’re a decent writer? I did well on writing assignments in college, but I’m a bit worried about these prompts. I was told that it’s graded based on writing skills, but Becker’s prompts say it also takes into consideration the information you write about…..
I’m assuming a good format is:
1. Introduction
2-4. Main point paragraphs
5. Conclusion

For anyone who has taken it, did you do any prep for these? is there any word on how they’re graded? I’m assuming each prompt is all or nothing.

Pretty much free points as long as you can write technically. Be sure to incorporate buzz words from the questions in your responses. I bs’d one response and made up a bunch stuff still ended up scoring strong than in the evaluation.

The main reason you would have anything to worry is if English isn't your first language. Even then, it's still fairly easy, just brush up on English grammar. (beware the run on sentence!)

Honestly, I am not sure if it was because it was the last thing on did for the CPA Exam (I obviously didn't know I passed at the time) but the WC was the most relaxed I ever was while taking the exam. I got three topics that I recognized but wouldn't say I was an expert on, but the more I kept typing, the better my answers were getting. I was very calm and happy during the WC and I guess I didn't mess it up as I passed the exam.

Just make sure that you use the buzzwords and have the proper format and use the spellcheck to find any misspelled words and you'll do great.
