Just reviewed B3, and did the supplemental questions.

    137 questions, 1h52m33s, 1 brain smoked.

I am not looking forward to do the 194 supplemental questions for B5, seriously.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

I yet to start reading B5, not even going to try doing any of the supplemental questions… And I thought I was unprepared for AUD. Ahhh

Just do the supplemental questions over 2 days. Or morning and evening. Don't do it all in a single go.

    FAR 92 - AUD 91 - REG 94 - BEC 86

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who is feeling unprepared. I am taking BEC on 8/31.. Chapters 3 and 5 are just so difficult. I know I could master it if I had a few more weeks, but I simply don't have that time now. I am using Becker and the MCQ are SOOO time consuming. I think at this point I am just going to have to go over the chapters and try to nail down the concepts.

I feel like I have Chapters 1, 2, and 4 down so hopefully with that combination I can do enough to get a 75!!

I only wish I was the the review stage at this point. I think I won't have time to review anything at all before my exam, just gotta do chapter 5 for now, and it's 120 pages long ! I always promise myself to not procrastinate but it never works.

Near the end of BEC is where I began hitting a big wall (it was my third section in two months). I am still struggling with FAR. I have 50 hours logged and still have to go through F9 for the first time. I sit on Tuesday.

I attribute my struggles to BEC 3 and 5 supplemental questions. After fighting my way through the supplemental questions I recall my brain being VERY fried. To the point of going to the counter at Starbucks to order a coffee and having difficulty getting words out of my mouth! Brain is just whizzing and swirling!

I will say a few things about the BEC supplemental questions:

    – If you can get through them correctly at least once, you are going to be in good shape.

    – Split it up. When I would sit down and try to work through all 150+ questions correctly it made me want to throw my Becker book and laptop out the window, and myself soon thereafter. If I remember correctly I would work through them once, go to bed, wake up in the morning and work through all of the problems I missed the first time.

You will notice that many of the supplemental questions come from the CMA exam. Many of the problems in Becker are longer/more detailed than what you will see on the CPA. There was not a single problem I came across in the exam where I had difficulty calculating the correct answer. Even if I didn't know the right answer/formula to use immediately, I could work through the problem a number of different ways and eventually come to the answer.

I worked through all of Becker's MC (supplemental and regular) one time correctly. I scored a 92 on BEC.

    REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
    BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)

    potatogun and idrathergolf:

    You are so right.

I noticed that most of the 33 questions I got wrong were in the last 50.

It was a mix of being exhausted, and not caring about the answer, I just wanted to get to end of it!

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

I might just take the CMA exam at this point then….

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95

I think part of the reason Becker has such a high number of questions is to somewhat condition our brains. I am always surprised at how many questions I will miss because I am lazy and don't read the complete question word for word.

The last thing I would want happening on test day is to miss questions due to not completely reading the question. If I don't know the material I am ok with missing a question, but if I know the right answer and I miss due to a silly error from being lazy, it is completely unacceptable.

I remember in college missing questions on tests because I was lazy in transferring my answers from the test to the scan-tron. Talk about upsetting!

    REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
    BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)

“I think part of the reason Becker has such a high number of questions is to somewhat condition our brains. I am always surprised at how many questions I will miss because I am lazy and don't read the complete question word for word.”– I second that for sure, especially with BEC.

@italian- I wouldn't worry too much about the supplementals and trying to get through them, what you'll see on the exam will be much easier! I'd recommend working on questions in the chapters and mastering the basics these last few days. Good luck!

    It's midnight.

I am at 100 done out of 194 supplemental Qs for B5 (got 80 right so I'm moderately satisfied).

My eyes just raised white flag. I'm done.

    FAR - 7/26/10 - 95
    AUD - 8/10/10 - 88
    BEC - 8/31/10 - 88
    REG - 10/15/10 - 95
