    Hi everyone!

Just wanted to check in with everyone as its been a few weeks since my last post when i was defeated after going down in points on my Audit exam. As per the suggestion of all of you, i refocused my efforts, first by watching the lectures (i skipped these the first time around). I just finished all the lectures for BEC (took me about 2 weeks) and am going to start doing questions in the book and test bank. I am following Jeff’s ninja plan to a T.

Heres my question… Im going to start by doing all the MCs in the book, take intense notes, then do all the MCs in wiley test bank with notes and supplement by rewriting the intense notes i took during the lectures as well as ninja notes and ninja audio when jeff releases it. Does anyone suggest a different way of approaching it?

I wanna thank everyone for the support as the lectures really reinforced alot of the concepts that i definitely did not pick up by just reading so I am happy with my refocused effort. What does everyone think?

I really don't recommend completely re-writing your notes. You may end up wasting time writing something that you know to a T.

I would recommend writing only things you didn't remember or don't really understand. For example, I am studying FAR, what would be the point in me re-writing notes on Depreciation Methods if I already know then very well and kill the MCQ on them? Also, I would recommend you taking practice tests at least once a week until the week of your test then take one every other day or so. This will help you decide which section you need to focus more time on and which you just need to refresh with.

    Good luck!

    thanks nolife!

akb – yes your right, but if i time i am going to try to re-write all per Jeff's plan. Anything extra can't hurt me… Just wondering if i should do text questions then wiley test bank, mix it together or which….

I am definitely grasping the material much better this time around and am going to beat this thing! thanks to all your support!!!!

i usually do the assigned problems in the book and take notes, then do all of the wiley test bank for that section and take more notes. in the last week or 2 i will do 100 random mcq from the test bank everyday till exam day

For My 3rd attempt at AUD I followed all of Jeff's recommendations to the T including rewriting all my notes. I disagreed with the concept and intended to hold him responsible if I failed a third time. Turns out he gets kudos for helping me finish my 4th and final exam!

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

@JTF Good to hear you're at it!!

One piece of advice I would give you is not to go ham on note-taking…don't get me wrong, taking notes is key to studying. All the notes I have ever taken are based only on MCQ's. Do all the questions in a section first, then re-do them again, and the second time, use the ‘mark' option as you're going through the questions, and mark only the questions that you feel are the most difficult or ones you got right for the wrong reason, extract the key fact nuggets out of the explanations from the questions you've marked. This technique will make your life way easier when you're on review stage. When you do practice quizzes on Wiley, only do quizzes on the questions marked. Read your set of notes at least 3 times before the exam, repeat marked MCQ's at least 3 times, and I believe you should be golden!

As far as re-writing your notes… I have never tried it, it just doesn't fit with my learning style. I learn more by repetition, I can retain information after reading it several times, or practicing MCQ's over and over…. but if you feel that it would help, by all means do it!

I'm here. Work has been taking up most of my time lately but things are getting better. I think you have a great plan and I'm pulling for you!!! Some people say you don't need to memorize the standard audit report but I did. I would always get confused with exceptions. Once I knew the standard report like the back of my hand, I could easily pick out the exceptions. But this is just my experience. A lot of people pass AUD without memorizing it but it really helped me. Good luck to you!!!
