I Can Do This???!

Just took BEC last week and now studying for FAR.

I will start work on OCT 31st (First day, on Halloween. Werid. haha).

I have only less than 2 months to study for FAR.

First week of NOV, I have training.

My exam is on NOV 27th.

FAR freaks me out! I’m using Becker. People have told me to just skip the lectures and look over the notes myself and do MCQ’s. Is that effective?

I’m sure lots of people have created a thread for this, but…

Any advice on how to tackle FAR under 6-7 weeks? Thanks!

    BEC- OCT 1, 2013
    FAR- NOV 27, 2013
    AUD- APR 2014
    REG- MAY/JUL 2014

I work full-time and have been studying, I have to take BEC on the 17th and FAR on Nov 30th. My plan is to get through the lectures in 3-4 weeks with 2 notebooks full of notes. Then I will have 2 weeks of pounding MCQ's and review.

I did this for REG and it worked, so going to try for FAR too.

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass

@hellothere I wouldn't worry about 6-7 weeks not being enough time. In fact, from what I have read, anything longer than 6 weeks is too long. I studied for 4 weeks about 3-4 hours a day while working full time and I am by no means an efficient studier. Best of luck to you!

Maybe we work at the same firm because I start on 10/31 and have training first week of November lol. What I found works best for me after taking 2 exams in one month last quarter is a maximum of 4 weeks for studying anything longer and I start forgetting. I will be taking REG on 10/26 and retaking FAR on 11/30. For FAR try doing 2 chapters a week and going over mcq after mcq.

6 weeks for FAR?!? Wow. You guys are very ambitious! That's like 4 hrs of studying per day…EVERY day if you assume you need at least about 150 hrs of studying. Sounds hard core! Good luck!!!

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14
