I’m trying to study for BEC in a short amount of time, before Q3 closes. Test is on Friday. I have a feeling I will not be able to do all of the Ninja MCQs (1367). I was able to finish all of them for FAR, REG, and AUD. Probably not this time though….. I’m not able to do more than 200-220 questions per day.

I do the questions by topic and only do “new questions” normally. This seems to have worked on FAR & REG (still waiting on the AUD score). I’m thinking of just leaving the IT section for last and if I run out of time for IT, oh well. It’s 26% of the questions but only supposed to be 17% of the score for BEC (similar to business law on REG).

Note: This is after doing the reading and assigned questions in CPAExcel. I’m finishing off those tonight.

I will have to see how Becker did when I take the test on Wednesday. Don't neglect IT. Everyone has been saying IT has been hit hard lately this quarter. That and COSO

I used CPA excel and ninja mcq. 95% of the IT/COSO questions I was seeing for the first time. Very frustrating…

I felt the same as Ryan except I used Roger and Ninja. I also did a bunch of questions on cpareviewforfee and didn't see anything like what was on the exam.

I used Becker and got stronger 2 out of 4 times (yes 4 times) on the information systems portion, with the last 2 attempts being stronger; passing #4). I don't think any program truly prepares you for the weird questions they throw at you. I am with save bandit, Becker for BEC is not the best, but I don't have any other program to compare it to.

Roger and Ninja MCQ didn't prepare me for IT or internal control really. I will find out if I passed on the 9th. It is very strange how foreign the exam was to me

The IT sections of CPAExcel….the terms just all sound like gobbledygook to me. Most of the internal control/COSO stuff is very similar to what I learned in AUD, so not too bad.

Got too exhausted last night to continue with “Strategic Planning- Budget and Analysis” Ninja MCQs, so I finished off “Corporate Governance” instead.

I think Wiley did a good job of preparing me for the IT stuff. They almost covered it too much. I was getting really tired of studying IT because I find it to be very boring.

The plan in operation now is Finance/Strategic Planning/Operations Management from when I wake up until I get pooped out. Then I switch to IT/Economics a few hours before bedtime since they require less brain power and IT is just blunt memorization.

I thought Becker did fine preparing me for COSO, and it likely did a good job with IT but I don't think I valued IT enough to study it as much as I should have. I passed, but some of the IT stuff was like a foreign language once I got the test. I suspect it was all right there in Becker and I just didn't study enough though.
