How often do you review?

I’m new to posting here, but I’ve lurked for a long time. I’m studying for BEC right now and using Wiley. I just added the Ninja program to supplement. Here’s my question:

How often should I review? As I’m going through these sections, I don’t feel like I’m retaining what I need to retain and if I move on without understanding I’m afraid there will be some major gaps in my knowledge. Should I stop periodically to review what I’ve covered or just try to get through the material as quickly as possible?

    Thanks for your help!

I'm using Wiley CPAexcel too. I think it depends on which exam you're taking and your individual circumstances. For example, I started studying for FAR in early January to take the exam 1st week in April. Due to the massive amount of information and my need to get through all the material, I didn't review until the end. I went through the material then took a week off of work to review. I started my review right after work on Friday (March 23) and reviewed everyday until April 1 then took my test on April 2. On the other hand, I'm studying for AUD right now. There's less material to cover AND I'm not going to have the luxury of taking a week off work so I'm reviewing a previously covered section every sunday. It also helps that I've been able to cover a section in AUD every week. So, you have to look at your individual circumstances to see what strategy is best for you.

Homemade flash cards ftw. Being familiar with your material is one thing, and certainly helpful, but there's just no way anyone can memorize it all without condensing it down to key facts and concepts imo.

Not familiar with Wiley but IMO you should review and practice for at least a few hours after every chapter. Gleim also throws in questions from prior chapters in all their MCQ sections to help retain the knowledge (i.e. 25 question test will have 20 from current chapter and 5 from random previous chapters).
