    Im still confused how the system does it. Do they count key words/number of paragraphs? Is it possible one can get a zero for a WC even if he/she writes something?

    I wish I knew this, too, though I did hear the computer grades it if it looks like you'll get over 75, and a human grades it when you're on the line. I think the system is looking for key words and an intro, middle, and end paragraph.

    When do you sit for BEC? I sit Friday. Even if I don't pass this time, I'm looking forward to taking a break from studying it. I'm really really over BEC.

    From my understanding, the written communications are computer graded looking for keywords related to the question. Grammar usage and spelling are also important as they show whether your writings to a potential client would be considered professional. Since the computer has no way to interpret context, I don't believe your response needs to be factually correct in order to receive credit. I was told to write a memo-formatted response with header, intro, body, and conclusion paragraphs and vary my word usage to ensure I hit as many keywords as possible. I took this approach into my attempt and passed with an 88. Good luck!

    B - 88 (2/16)
    A - 84 (4/16)
    R - 73 (6/16), 82(7/16)
    F - 67 (1/16), 84(4/16)

    @cmcook I took BEC yesterday. Aside from the fact that the MCQ were unevenly distributed in favor of my least favorable topics I dont feel good about my WC. I finished all 3 memos but I'm afraid I didn't throw enough buzzwords there.
    Im also soooo over BEC, I hope I passed. Worst exam so far

    @rtalfson

    on your score report, did you score “stronger” on your WC portion using that strategy?

    thanks for your insight btw

    At least in my state, you don't get a breakdown on the score report when you pass. I looked up the email to confirm, it just says I passed with an 88. I can recall that I knew very little about at least 2 of my 3 written comm topics, so I think my technique of throwing every term I could come up with helped. Obviously, you will want your response to make some sense in case you end up close to 75 and get the human review treatment.
