Ok I am curious to know how does some of my fellow text takers study and learn?? I just read a post where someone said they have a 2′ thick card notes for BEC and it had me thinking and made me nervous a little…. The thing is I almost never take notes. Literally!!! I have always rely soley on my memory. Admittedly for BEC I have a 3 page formula sheet which is really for reviewing minutes before my exam. Other than that I dont look at notes or formula sheets. I did that for AUD and passed. I am now 85% confident about BEC with a month to go and i havent taken any notes….. my thing is I have always had a good memory. some ppl find it scary…..

To prepare for my exams I intend on doing thousands of MCQ’s and rely solely on memory when necessary…. Are there anyone else that doesnt take notes and was still able to pass on the exams???

@mla1169, what review course did you end up using? I've watching a couple of Rogers clips and have loved him and his teaching styles.. I saw him AFTER I had already purchased all 4 sections under Becker..

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

Peanut I tried to go about this as cheap as possible (in retrospect it did cost me to do this, by 2 failed exams) but I am only using the wiley books and CPAreviewforfree.com. I think when all is said and done for my review for 4 exams I paid less than $150 but I really only started out on this to see if I could do it and wasn't entirely committed.

Actually for FAR, I didnt purchase a single thing. I used cpareviewforfree and then googled to supplement, by looking up on the aicpa and other official websites. I probably put more hours in than I would have had I used an official program but I am a fan of doing things the hard way….

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

I used to take notes religiously but that didn't help me and it just took up so much time. Now I just read and do hundreds and hundreds of MCQ's until I understand it.

    FAR 82
    AUD 81 (2007), 73, 80
    REG 68 (2010), 76
    BEC 58 (2007), 75 DONE!!!!

I make lots of note cards, but I never really go back and look at them again. I think that just writing things down that helps me memorize. Also, lots and lots of MCQs.

@rknight21 – I never took notes. I relied heavily on MCQs for all 4 sections. I think working the MCQs and studying a formula sheet for BEC is a fine plan, especially if it has worked for you in the past.

    BEC - 10/18/2010 - 79
    FAR - 10/28/2010 - 82
    AUD - 11/04/2010 - 73; 02/18/2011 - 86 - IT'S OVER!!!!!!
    REG - 11/21/2010 - 83

Everyone learns in a different way. I never wrote a single note for any of my exams and I passed them all on my first try. Instead, I used Becker premade notes (which are awesome for all sections) But that's just my learning style and I read each page from Becker 2-3 times and read Jeff notes for some sections also.

    FAR 88 - BEC 86 - AUD 90 - REG 85
