I took BEC in Q1 2012. Here's a question…when they list first time vs. re-take statistics, is that first-time takers of that section, or first-time takers of the CPA exam as a whole? In other words, I took FAR and AUD in 2011, but BEC for the first (and only) time in February. Does that mean I count as a first timer in Q1 (for BEC), or was I first-timer only once in August 2011 when I took FAR?

There is a pretty big disparity in passing between first-timers and retakes – 49.5% to 41.3%.
