For those that have taken the BEC exam, is it really as bad as it seems? I felt fine with BEC 1 and 2 and then got to BEC 3…..I am now very overwhelmed! So many concepts and formulas. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks!

The best advice I can give, having taken it twice now, is do not underestimate BEC. Know your formulas and know how and when to apply them.

BEC is tough and people underestimate financial management and IT. The key is to work a ton of MCQs to make sure you're comfortable with the material.

I just got another 73 on BEC… this will be my last one but I already have 2 72's and 2 73's on BEC alone…. definitely don't underestimate BEC. I just bought Yaeger because of this website – hopefully that does the trick

I felt very overwhelmed by BEC as well. It took me four tries to pass it, and Yaeger is what made the difference. In the BEC lecture series from Yaeger, the methodology that Cindy Simpson teaches to approach the problems is what saved me, I would definitely recommend it.

Oh, and also…the more MCQs that you can practice, the better you will feel about the material.

Honestly I heard a lot of bad things about BEC before I took it. I am currently waiting for the score, however, I walked out of there knowing I got a 99. The reason I felt so comfortable qwaas because I studied the application of the concepts.

My strategy in studying this topic was to apply them to clients I was currently working on. When you make it into reality and get to know the concepts on a personal basis, it becomes much easier and even fun.

Trust me on this. Use the financial management concepts (ie: budgeting, variance analysis, etc) to your advantage. Apply them to your current work and the exam will be a breeze. Not only that, but I have already received a prpomotion because of my application of these ideas to certain clients.

BEC is honestly the building block of everything that accounting is built on. It focuses on how to increase profit and ultimately put cash in a business owner's pocket. If you take this exam to heart, you will succeed.
