Have you ever seen a question with two answers?

I just finished my BEC exam. I know I can’t talk about anything specific so I will ask in as general terms as possible. There was a question where two of the answers were something along the lines of increase X to 2, decrease X to 2. I thought about this question a lot, and I can see no way at all that you could know the starting figure so you would not know whether to increase or decrease the said thing. Has anyone ever seen a question where there could be more than one answer? Do you think this could be a pre-test question? It’s the only question on any of the 4 exams where I just can’t see an answer between the two. I don’t believe that this breaks anything confidential, but if it does Jeff, please delete the thread. Thanks

I've seen that a lot in practice questions (and other exams), and usually there's some almost-invisible trick that supposedly designates the right one, but I haven't seen that yet on these exams. However, I did have a couple questions on BEC that I honestly don't think had a right answer. Like, if I figured up the problem, I could get an answer that was close to an option (say, 370 when the closest answer was 380), and I could maybe figure it wrong and get a different option, but on topics that I was very comfortable with, there were some that in my honest opinion did not have a correct answer. So somewhat similar but different!

It was very strange! I looked at it for 5 mins, thought about it all the way home and couldn't find which one was right. The only thing I can think of is that maybe I missed a word such as improve or something that would point to one answer over the other. Either way, if I did then I got it right, if not and there really is two answers chances are it was a pretest question so either way works 🙂

I had FAR question with what it appeared to be 2 answers. Got home and verified and still convinced that it was the case unless there was a qualifier word like not or all or except and I missed it.

@Seattle glad it's not just me that saw a question like that! The more I think about it though, the more I think of one word that could have been in there that could have led to a clear answer which is the one I picked. I guess it's not worth worrying about it now anyway! It went ok, i'm always a little unsure. I'd be disappointed if I didn't get 75 but you just never know. I've felt like that every time so far so we will see. It will be an anxious 2 weeks !!
