Tried to study yesterday with two kids and a puppy running around, felt dumb, unproductive and just terrible. Test is 25 days away-I know I have time, but damn it-at this point I feel like I don’t know anything!

I don't have kids, but I can tell you that I felt MISERABLE on the lead up to the first exam…I was seeing stuff I'd never seen before, I felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of memorization (especially the FARS crap) and some of the concepts are just HARD. It felt like a suicide march some days…

I was at least 70% sure I'd failed FAR…I had deliberately decided to focus on hard stuff and concepts over crap like memorizing statement titles and FARS. Test day, I get buried with FARS – 20 questions or so – and most of the stuff I'd worked so hard to master was barely even on there (only one pension question, no derivatives, no dollar value LIFO). The SIMS went extremely well, but the MCQ seemed like a personal screw you. Score release date..I was SHOCKED. I knew I'd done well on SIMs, and thought it MIGHT carry me to a borderline pass…but I never dreamed I'd gotten an 89 when the test focused on what I didn't focus on.

All of which is to say…EVERYONE feels like you do, and about half are going to pass. If you prep well, you have a good shot. Chin up…do the best you can.

Tomorrow is gone. Today, you have a fresh start. Restructure you plan and go for it. It's not uncommon to feel unprepared and frazzled with that amount of time left until test time (depending on how much efficient time you've put in). At this point, you know what you must do–just do it! (Like Nike LOL)

Oh yeah, I'm married with two kids and work full-time…I completely understand that it is not easy. But, nothing in life worth having is.

I believe in you! Though, you must also believe in yourself for this to work 🙂

I'm tired of operating in fear and mediocrity. It's time to try. It's time to do. It's time to go.

I started getting up at 5:30 to study and found that the house is much quieter at that hour, also the day hasn't started yet so my mind is relatively clear and more focused than the rest of the day. As a result, I feel the material is sticking a lot better than before. Sometimes a little change up can do wonders. But keep at it, fight through the frustrations, and regroup.

Thanks everyone! Hitting the textbook again today while on the train, so that I am not spinning my wheels. I want to hit each section individually this week in Ninja to get through most of the questions and then I will just do progress tests to see how it goes. I also tried a Final Exam in Becker last night with both kids and a puppy running around. Definitely rushed through it and did terribly, felt awful, should have left it for the weekend when my husband is around…
