I love Roger in everything, but his BEC required a little more information than he gave. THOUGH, his method of explaining variances and cost accounting is like the prime example. I don't think I would have done so well in those sections if it wasn't for him.

But if you're looking for cheap, I would get NINJA MCQ and maybe their book for BEC, because, NINJA MCQs helped me pass. Their audio was helpful too. Honestly, for BEC, I rewrote my notes a lot. I finished Roger's, 2013 WTB, and 900 questions from NINJA (about 2000). I think for BEC, it was helpful to do so many questions since it's MAINLY MCQs.

BEC is fairly short, but don't underestimate NPV/IRR.

I know this is your thread. But can you share your tips on REG?

@hasy thanks for your input! When you say Roger, what type of product did you use? I had his audio lectures for FAR and I didnt find them helpful although hes very entertaining.

As for my experience with REG retake, aside from the fact that I did not cover all the material required for REG when I took it first time, I also underestimated the weight of individual taxation questions tested at the exam. I dont know if it's a good tip though. I used Becker Textbook , Ninja mcqs and Wiley Testbank , all were very helpful

My old firm bought me the lowest priced Roger's review course, which came with lectures, IPQs, and the books. For audio, I meant NINJA audio. There's 7 chapters in BEC and the NINJA audio was sweet. Very short. Very easy to listen to.

For BEC, it was very interesting. It was my very first exam so I studied like no other and thought it was enough. I finished everything for Roger for BEC, however, if you get NINJA, there's no way you won't pass. Their MCQs are SO hard, the only reason why I didn't finish the MCQs (900/1300). My only tip for BEC is don't spend more than 4-5 weeks on it. It has the least amount of material so they test you on EVERYTHING. I believe that if you are decent in English and writing, the WCs shouldn't be a concern. Honestly, like you have REG and FAR under your belt, you should be decent for BEC. SOME information overlaps.

I also used Roger Review. I did lecture video and IPQs. I didn't do CRAM. Since you completed REG and FAR (two hardest sections), BEC won't be too bad for you. Best of luck!

I took BEC as my first exam; used the Wiley (now CPAExcel/Wiley) book and the Wiley test bank. Worked great for me. Didn't even get through all the Wiley test bank questions, and still passed.

Doesn't mean it will work for you.

Your best way to figure out what to do for BEC is look at what you did for FAR and REG and what did or didn't work well from those. For me, lectures would've been worse than a waste of time. But, for others, they're a necessary ingredient. For some, reading the book would've been a disaster; for me, it was my key ingredient. Look at your experiences with REG and FAR and what worked well there, and craft a plan from that. Cause…my way was perfect for me (got me all 4 as first-time passes), but it's positively dreadful for others, and the same can be said for any review plan.

I've used Becker for everything since that's what my firm paid for. So far I am 3 for 3, knock on wood. Writing is definitely a weak spot for me, so I really concentrated on the MC section of the exam. My sim responses were pathetic, but I still managed an 82.

For BEC I used the Ninja Audio, Notes, Book and MCQS. As a supplement I used the test bank on CPA Review for Free. All of the Ninja products helped me to understand about 85% of the material for BEC. To get me over the hump, the questions from CPA Review for Free gave me that extra boost I needed. The questions on bonds, present value and internal rate of return are extremely difficult and have excellent notes/explanations.

    REG - 74, Retook 6/10/16, scored a 72 (Hate this exam)
    BEC - 69, 79, 8/1/15
    AUD - 83, 4/4/15
    FAR - 77, 2/27/16

I passed BEC with Becker but I honestly thought their review course for that section was hands-down the worst of the 4. COSO was a really nebulous concept for me and I never really grasped it with Becker. They were way off on the IT section as well. Plus, their review of cost accounting was pretty awful too. They tell you that BEC is mostly a conceptual test then proceed to murder you with 4000 overly -complicated cost questions. Most people will tell you it is the easiest section, but I hate it the most.

@SaveBandit I feel exactly the same about BEC, I just started studying it and it just doesn't click with me!

Also, very helpful input about Becker! I found Becker textbook extremely good for FAR that's why I got it for REG too. For REG it was not bad. Im using it for BEC now, so far not a big fan

@hasy its interesting you liked Ninja audio, I used them for FAR and I thought they were too short to actually get any useful information from them. Maybe I'm just not an audio person…
