Is it just me or are the first two chapters of BEC very very time consuming/frustrating. Please tell me that the other 4 in Becker’s review book are easier.

Those first two are definitely time consuming with all the math. Don't skip over the long ones (like I was very tempted to do). It definitely gets more tolerable.

After BEC 2 and 3 it gets a lot more tolerable. In order of the longest and most frustrating chapters: 2, 3, 1. After that it becomes A LOT better. Hang in there buddy!

It isn't just you. Ch 2 was so bad that I had to stop halfway through it. I moved on and finished chapters 4 &5 before I finally sucked it up and went back to face the second half of ch 2. It is a very important chapter, but I needed a break from it while still moving forward with my BEC studies. And Ch 3 is a lot easier, too.

I did exactly what @1foryou19forme did. I was finding myself putting off studying because I was frustrated with chapters 1-3, so I decided to move on in order to get actual studying done. Then I went back to them afterwards.

Holy Crap! I'm glad I'm not the only one! This is my last exam and I'm stoked to be so close, but then I started studying for BEC using Becker and its been 3 weeks. Usually, I do a chapter a week and thought to maybe even do 1.5 with BEC. Umm negative…. I've been so fustrated and exhausted with the 100+ that all deal with Cost Accounting! I even skipped some of chapter 1 thinking it's got to get easier and chapter 2 deals with it too with 100+ questions! Talk about unmotivational! Least I'm not the only one. I think I'll try to get though with chapter 2 by this weekend and just move on.

*Fingers crossed* Cost accounting is basic questions on the test…not the 3.5 pages like the Becker questions! Good Lord!

LOL! Yes I feel the cost accounting and budget questions are really, really long too. We'll see what we get during the exam though.

Sorry I know this thread is old but the exam is still alive haha and I am currently working on BEC ch 2 becker. Not only are the questions super long and frustrating, a lot of them have so much distractor information to where it pisses me off and want to punch the monitor lol

I'm currently studying for BEC, but I'm not using Becker. What does chapter 2 cover? I'm studying IT and Corp Governance…..next week I'll do Cost Acct.

somehow finished first 3 chapters but I was so tired of all that calculations I skipped optional 114 questions from Ch 3 and jumped to ch 4, end of FEB is an exam but honestly didn't retained anything frm first 3 chapters they are terrible..dont want to study them again not even in revision…tired already..

@cpatitlein2015…..Chapter 2 covers budgeting and forecasting analysis. The concept is understandable but its executing the long wordy questions with a bunch of distractor info that makes it super annoying.

I was in the same boat a week or so ago. 1 and 2 put me trough the ringer. Finally got through after 2-3 weeks and will finally start 3 tonight. From what I've read, 3 will suck just as much but I feel slightly motivated knowing the calculation heavy chapters are1-3. I'm actually excited to study the IT stuff now good lord.

Pages 44-50 of Chapter 2 for Becker can make you want to see a psychiatrist…

Chapter 3 also sucks. That one takes awhile too.

But 4, 5 and 6 go by really fast compared to the first 3. Chapters 1-3 are very calculation and formula heavy. 4-6 are very conceptual.
