TX candidates could you tell me where to buy ethics course? I can’t think any more. I have two brain cells left and I am using them to write this post. I would like to finish this process before we get our scores.

I can’t believe I don’t have to study today!

@ David1985 – I have seen several post about Ethic class for TX? My understanding is the Ethic class is taking before you are able to starting sitting for the exams right?

I took an Ethics class before being able to sit and then once you pass all 4 parts, TSBPA will send you the Ethics exam that you need to pass with an 85. or Maybe I am confused with the process… Not sure but that is the process I thought. lol

I think we have ethics before and after. I just don't want to wait for TSBPA. They have no concept of timeliness.

LMAO!! I so agree with the timeliness of TSBPA. I think once you pass all 4 parts, they are suppose to mail you the Ethics Exam.

I am not sure if they will mail you a free one but I wanted to be proactive. This link has the approved courses that can be taken https://www.tsbpa.state.tx.us/licensing/cpe-ethic-course.html my boss ordered one from the CPEstore. It is very easy. Have no idea how much it is but all i have to do once I pass all 4 is go online and put in my answers and I can immediately print a certificate.

The board sends out a paper test and you must do an additional ethics test that mandy is referring to.

My husband was sent a paper test, which is basically a test over the AICPA ethics if I remember correctly. But then you have to do a CPE type of ethics course as well before becoming licensed. Probably would be best to just call the state board.

Changed my mind. Want to be a CPA.

So this is what I think is going on with ethics:

1. You need to have ethics class (college) to qualify for the exam.

After you take and pass all 4 parts you need to:

2. Take AICPA ethics exam. (which they mail you)

And

3. Take ethics CPE 4 hr class.

For Gods sake can somebody help me with this. It my description of the process correct?

@David – it sounds like you are correct, I also placed a call but did not get far with them. So I email the Director of Qualifications to see what she can tell me.

@david-that's what i said….only you were more concise. Eff it all I'm going to be a drunk…yep…Already drinking my Lindeman's Framboise. The whole CPA process is overrated….maybe on Monday I'll feel differently.
