I think cumulatively I have forgotten more than I know. Two days ago, I could calculate equivalent units under fifo or w/a in my sleep, now I am struggling when and how to apply the costs. Maybe I am just tired. This process is so tough.

I think just about everyone here completely understands what you are going through. You are right. This process is tough. These exams are designed to test you in every way possible. They test your ability to cram your brain full of information and spit it back out to the examiners. They test your ability to delay gratification. They test your confidence in yourself, and from time to time, they crush it to dust. More importantly, they test your desire to succeed. You know more than you think and you can overcome the lack of confidence. Just keep working towards your goal and don't second guess yourself. Good Luck!

You exam is in 2 wks. I say take a break for 2 or three days frm accounting and CPA. Then come back to practice exams. Then you will know exactly what you know. You shuld focus when taking the real exam. If you keep. Doing MCQ til the last day. You will be tired during the real exam as you were tired today when doing even easy MCQ.

Shay and Kricket, your comments mean so much and aremotivating.

Thanks for caring. Some days I swear I could get a 99 other days nothing works.

I have put in triple the time and cost for BEC than AUD and REG combined.

Our brains are all wired differently except when it comes to encouraging each other.

Thanks for the support. I must pass BEC this trip, must. So bored with

the material and looking forward to my last part.

@OP I agree with Shay. I am taking BEC on the same day as you and took yesterday off. All I did was go to the gym, watch the Lakers game and take it easy. I think sometimes we try to maximize our days and forget that our brain is a muscle just like our arm/chest/leg or what have you. It needs rest too. When I take a day off , I TAKE A DAY OFF. Haha nothing that makes my mind work enters my head. Its the only way to get refreshed. Plus you have 12 more days!!

Thanks! good luck to you as well! BEC is completely weird to me. The fact that they throw IC/IT/Cost management/Econ all together is wild. Its like the test makers just jumbled up whatever was left over after creating the other 3 exams and threw them together. haha

I felt the same way too Kass, but realized that I was just so tired and my brain had no fuel left to absorb any information or even recollect things I'd already learned. Take a break, go have some fun and don't feel guilty about it! Your brain and body will thank you for it 🙂

Givemesleep – you can do this! If you feel like you are forgetting what you learned, I agree what others say that you should take a break.

This test brings out the absolute worst in people. I truly believe that.

Just remember – if it were easy, everyone would be a CPA. I keep telling myself that I want this process to be difficult or else everyone would do it! Hang in there and know that you have a lot of people in your cyber family that are pulling for you!

    REG - 80 (Becker only)
    BEC - 76 (Becker only)
    AUD - 71, 76 (Becker only)
FAR - 65, 74, 81! (Becker, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja notes & Audio)

    CPA Class of 2012 🙂

Givemesleep, hang in there buddy. Do you know my dad asked me last week what BEC stood for and I didn't even know! I couldn't remember what the E was for. I said Economics no…Environmental. How is that for forgetting?! I don't even know the name of the exam I have in a week!

Point is, you're not alone. Like Shay and Klay (hey I like that!) said, step away for a little bit, regroup and get back in the books.

Right after my BEC exam I'm off to Vegas for some rest/relaxtion. I don't want to think about whether or not I passed. Reward yourself after you take the test…it will give you something to look forward to.

Good luck! I think you're going to nail it this time.

@ Kassius-Are you in LA? Go Lakers! 🙂

@Shay – I hated the Becker calculator too, but was afraid that if I didn't use it to practice, I would be SO slow for the test. What I didn't realize was that I was always using my laptop, clicking on the numbers and keys I needed to use when it is also possible to use the numeric keypad to enter numbers and operations. I don't have a separate numeric keypad on my laptop, but the computer at the testing center had one, so it was much more like using a regular calculator. Hope that helps.

    FAR - 92 (4/27/12)
    AUD - 96 (7/17/12)
    BEC - 92 (8/30/12)
    REG - 91 (11/12/12)

I totally fit with the title of this post….BEC on 5/30 and i don't know how to pull this off. So many formulas and mumbo jumbo of topics that my head spins….like the exorcist. I may need one after this is over!! I thought BEC would be “easier” than the other sections, i feel so disappointed and betrayed. I don't think I've felt so clueless about any of the other exams like I do with BEC. Let me clarify…on the other sections, I could say that I was confident about several areas weeks before the exam. With a little over a week to go, I don't feel confident AT ALL about ANY of the areas.

I'm using Becker and the lectures have been a complete disappointment….and i'm doing horrible on the MCQ. It's so hard to be positive when everything seems so negative…
