If a company introduces a new product will the new product increase their existing cost of quality? I assume there would be an increase in the prevention, appraisal and detection costs?

I am not understanding your question. I can come up with a new product made out of grass and call it the ultimate salad. I do not have to invest any money in prevention/appraisal/internal/external cost.
