So the title got you here, but it’s not wrong.

Currently, I’m in my last semester of college. I study 5-8 hours everyday and I’m currently in the 4th week of studying for the BEC which I take Feb 11. I’ve taken almost no breaks and studying is consuming my life. I actually like studying for it but last night I had a huge migraine. I became light sensitive and could not sleep. In fact, I tried sleeping but all I could think about the review materials. The more I thought about them the worse my migraine would get.

I’m afraid that if I don’t give this my all I won’t get my CPA. I’m really great conceptually, but get angry with some of the Becker MCQ that are algebra based. In about 3 of the sections, there are a few questions I have a lot of difficulty with. On my last progress test of all sections I got 77%.

Am I too concerned with perfecting it all? Should I take more time off from studying? That migraine set me back a bit. This is my first CPA test.

This is a long tedious process and four weeks into it is pretty early on to be struggling and having physical side effects. I'd say much more likely the problem is your posture while studying, inadequate lighting or maybe even the need for an eye exam or physical. Also watch your water intake even mild dehydration can have pronounced physical effects.

don't be concerned with perfecting it all.. I was averaging in the 50's and low 60's for REG and AUD, and passed both first time.

you sound like you could benefit a great deal from taking a day off.. just my .02

Thanks for the replies guys. My initial plan was 5-8 hours but I often will do a lot more than that because I feel like I have free time. The migraine wasn't as much of a concern for me as is making sure I'm retaining what I'm learning and being healthy. I will start at a Big 4 this summer so I pressure myself pretty hard.
