I failed BEC again for the 3rd time, and I scored the same 73 I used mainly Becker, Gleim and some Ninja Mcq’s. My average score was 70 with Gleim & ~ 79 with Becker.

My exam score report is “comparable” in all sections except Econ “Weaker” I don’t know what do or how to restart, I feel sick looking at these materials for a 4th time. I mailed my application again hopefully I can have an NTS within a month. Should I buy a different review course? what study plan would you recommend for retaking BEC for the 4th time? this is my last exam and I AM DESPERATE TO FINISH like anyone else but so hopeless. Any advice would be appreciated . Thanks

Why does it take so long for you to get an NTS? I apply at CPA Central online and I get my NTS by 8pm EST the same day.

    AUD - 10/21/16 (75----07/2010 expired)
    FAR - 10/28/16
    BEC - 11/2016
    REG - 01/2017

Using Gleim CPA Review, Ninja Audio, Ninja Book

Focus on your weakness critically. Tackle the weakness hard, seems like its econ. My weakness was corp governance and variance analysis. Once i tackled them hard, i finally passed with a 76.

Sorry to see that you failed, but you were close!

As mentioned above, I would focus on your weaker areas, and drill into them. Econ has always been challenging for me, as I find it difficult to think in that manner. One thing I did to help my understanding was to search some of those MCQs and find a post or a thread regarding that question on Another71.com. Sometimes having another person explain it helps it click.

Keep pushing and keep trying your best to understand those concepts. You will get it next time! Good luck.

Two 73's? Goodness, I can tell you that you are WAY too close to give up. You are not allowed to give up. Focus on your weak spot and head back in and kick this things a$$. We are rooting for you.

@fsugirl2005 in CA we have to send a paper application, process time is 4 weeks & now its longer, after I get the approval, I pay for NTS. SUCKS!

@Diesel I know it sounds bizarre, literally thought its double vision when I was checking my score. I am crushed but I won't give up, unless I started to lose FAR & REG in Dec. I bought Rogers, hopefully I can finally master Econs, pretty much the reason why I failed.

@CH89 thanks! yes, Econs is my hurdle, I never took any Econs classes, so I needed someone to explain to me every little concept as I am hearing these stuff for the first time. I bought Rogers so far it starting to click, I can't look at Becker or Gleim again.

This might be unusual advice but have you considered reviewing Economics topics in a source completely outside of the CPA review industry. I remember looking at Khan Academy for some Econ topics. Or may be a undergrad level text book that explains Micro and Macro Economics concepts a basic level. I find it hard remember specific facts in isolation and do better if I am able to come to conclusion “Relationally” or ‘contextually”. I feel it is worth a try to go outside conventional sources such as Becker, Gleim etc. There are some really high quality online bite-sized lectures on Macro and Micro Economics. That will get your mind off having to look at the same material over and over again. I feel it is worth trying a different tack. You can then come back to Becker/GLEIM and NINJA and hit the MCQ-s hard and I am sure you will feel lot more confident

You are so close,,hang in there, you can do this… So many people on this forum started off with lower scores and still passed it all.

I completely agree with CPA_VT. I usually rely on Farhat lectures for my CPA studies but since I couldnt pass BEC, I finally decided to look at other videos to finally pass BEC. Farhat lectures are great but some contents are better explained by others. My choice on YouTube lectures, just strictly my opinion.

Economics- Jacob Clifford ( best teacher for micro and macro economics)

Cost accounting- allthingsmathmatics he primary teaches math but he also teaches cost accounting. This guy helped me to pass for sure!

If BEC failed in July, is that the next re-take would be Oct as we cannot take it in the same window, is that correct?
