I just took BEC yesterday and this exam keep getting worse. They keeping comming up with questions, especially in the IT section, that even a person with a doctorate degree in IT wouldn't know the answer. Same goes for the international trade section. I got several questions not covered in Becker nor Gleim. Hopefully I did well enough to pass.

I'm very happy that everyone else got the feeling of “WTF?!” when taking BEC. I took it 8/31 & will say I'm among the rest of you. I thought it was an odd mix of easy & hard, so I'm hoping I didn't blow the “easy” ones. I know I got one wrong for sure that I should have gotten right. I had some ramdom SOX stuff that was never covered by Becker & one question in particular that I couldn't even figure out what they were asking & so didn't even know how to BEGIN calculating the numbers. I guess we'll all know our fate pretty soon. I really hope I pass this one because I'm retaking FAR next cycle (failed it by 1 point). I also felt that even if I studied another 10 hours, it wouldn't have helped.

    Hey everyone,

I just finished my Masters in Accounting this summer and I am not starting with my big 4 firm until January so I figured I would try to get BEC out of the way. I Passed AUD and was still waiting for my FAR results when I realized, I should probably sit for BEC before August 31st and start studying or else I will be pretty board when I get home. Anywho, I did my Becker self study lectures and final review for 3 weeks straight and felt good about the material going into the exam with the exception of some cost accounting issues and some NPV things.

In my opinion, I think the Becker Final Exams are harder than the actual exam; nonetheless, some of the questions on the real exam were absolutely ridiculous. I looked up the “fringe” questions after the exam and I ended up getting a bunch of them right – but they were so far out there that they had to been pre-test questions. The test had a lot of calculations that I thought I did right but the answer seemed “too good to be true”. Overall, I think I did fine. After taking AUD and FAR I thought I did not do as well – then again, those tests use progressive testing while BEC does not.

REG is my last section, I think I’m going to take it November 3rd (this way I have a lot of time to study, and I am going to have to wait until mid/end-November to find out results anyway).

What was the point of this rant, ummmmm, oh yeah – did anyone pass BEC this window have a similar BEC experience? It’s kind of hard to tell on BEC.

    Mmm …Bacon Egg n Cheese.

    Thanks!

@hazyCPA- My exam seemed way easier than the Becker practice exams. I felt over prepared. I studied the material over a 2.5 week period total (watching the lectures and doing the homework and taking some progress tests). I left feeling like I killed the exam (meaning I came out very confident). So just waiting for this final grade. Not really worried about it at all. I think perhaps those of you who said you had difficult questions had a different set of questions than I did. I feel like I was well-prepared for the questions I got. Anyway, good luck! Can't wait for these grades to get posted. You would think multiple choice questions would be graded quickly. But apparently they like to make us suffer.

I agree, Becker final exams were way harder than the actual test! The actual exam seemed way easier. I too must have had different questions than others because there were not many calculations, and the other questions were straightforward. I think Becker prepared me very well.

    AUD - PASSED
    REG - PASSED
    BEC - PASSED
    FAR - WAITING!!!

I just got my BEC score, and I passed with a 79. Two down, and two to go. I thought for sure I would be in the second wave since I took my test on 8/13. Oh well, moving onto FAR.

Everyone who had some “weird” questions on the BEC Exam, I had the same thing happen to me. There are pretest questions, about 15% or 6 questions per testlet if your testlets were 30 questions, that are NOT counted towards your final score. These questions are ones that are brand new or are used for statistical purposes. I know I had some off the wall questions that are pretest and I know will not count toward my score, so I was able to write those off!

    @ Dan

I really saw some weird questions on the exam, and you mentioned 6 questions per testlet, meaning there are 18 questions will be omitted? I thought there are only five each, is that mean regardless you answer them right or wrong, you don't get the scores?

Are the pretest questions all appear at the beginning of each testlets or they are mixed up?

    Thanks!

    Good Luck!

    BEC- 8/29/10

    FAR- 11/26/10

The count down for the score release already started. I am anxious to know if I passed this test. There were plenty of weird questions in the first test let, but the second and the third one were as ease as to peel a tangerine.

    AUD 83 (04/18/10)
    REG 77 (07/03/10)
    BEC 79 (08/30/10)
    FAR 77 (11/27/10)

There are 5 pretest questions per testlet on BEC, and they are not scored. So your score is calculated using a total of 75 questions. The pretest questions are randomly assorted throughout the exam (5 per testlet, though).

    AUD - 74, 87; BEC - 84; FAR - 78; REG - 79

Vaponte – we might have had the same test…the first testlet was off the wall, nothing too difficult but just strange questions. The second and third were much more straightforward.

    AUD – 88

    REG – 82

    BEC – 7/6 (waiting)

    FAR – 10/5
